Naming Save Games

Silly question?

Okay, there may be an obvious "duh" answer to this question, but I've poked at it with no luck.

How do I name my save games? Every time I go in to save, it marks it as "New Save Game", which I can't seem to click on or change. Not good, since I only get one save game!

What am I missing here?

Thank you for asking this question. I'm running into the same thing. I've just picked up GalCiv2:DL (thinking of getting the expansion as i'm already hooked in less then 2 days).

But i've been trying things out, i've had 3 great starts at beginner level as i learn the tech trees, and everything else. but i can only ever save 1 game. it will always overwrite the previous save and i'd like to keep 'em all.

Are you guys serious? When saving a game let's assume you let the computer name it... new... now play a turn and save the game again. This time click your mouse in front of the 'new' name and press delete until all the letters are gone (delete acts like the backspace button in this game, at least for me). Now you should be able to name it anything you want and then hit save. You will now see your 'original', 'new' named game AND your 'renamed' game save. I might not have described the process perfectly, but you can indeed save many times, with many different names if needed.
Remember, you have to click in front of the 'word', just like when picking a name for your custom race. And delete is the backspace button (why this is I just don't know).

You should be able to simply click in the box below the "Enter a name for the save" prompt at the top of the window, where teh name of the save to be made is shown (it will be the same as the last save by default). A text cursor should appear in the box and you can use the delete/backspace keys to erase the name, then you can enter a new one.

I noticed this before too. I think it's because when you click the area to rename something in this gmae, it doesn't highlight it all. It simply puts the cursor at the beginning of the line (instead of at the end, which most are probably used to).
Evil has it right though, click the area to rename then use the delete button to erase what's there then type what you want.
