Always reboot!

Hi!

I just installed the demo version of WB5 (after desinstalling a cracked version) and now:

1) WB5 won't load a theme without asking for a serial...
2) WB5 is always asking for a reboot, again & again & again...

How can I delete ALL the files related to WB5 and start over a fresh install of the demo?

I Tried desinstalling WB5, deleting all the stuff in RegEdit (stardock, wbload, windowblinds) and deleted the files in program files in safe mode.

Chances are your issues stem from the 'cracked version' failing to uninstall correctly....something that 'cracked versions' are quite good at.

There 'may' be a simpler solution, but you may end up needing a system re-install.

If you do, remember to shoot off a nice thankyou email to the cracker.  He'll appreciate the feedback, I'm sure....

That's my second option, I got a ghost of my C drive anyway

But if I can do it in another way I'll try it before.

If it is asking for a serial then the trial files are not being used.

I am allso having this problem, funny thing is i have used windows blinds for over a year now. never illegally just the trial version and this week i decided to buy it now it wont ruddy work

WindowsBlinds user for well over a year, no illegal versions ever installed, not pirated, downloaded right off your site. Upgrading to version 5 is a pain in the ass and wont stop asking to restart my computer. Good job looks like you just lost at least three users.

quite a few of the constant restart posts end up being tied to either not fully uninstalling a trial version or the full 4.6 OR antivirus OR firewall blocking the activation

It's not good when a program does'nt uninstall completely so the best thing to do is try to manually delete as much as poss, then go get ccleaner or easycleaner (it's free). I use ccleaner, then by cliking on the registry button run the program and untick all except what is associated with whatever prog you have deleted,anything you do not recognise do not delete, also use IE folder search function and create a shortcut to the desktop of the prefetch folder, then delete all the contents of that folder (DO NOT DELETE THE PHYSICAL FOLDER ONLY THE CONTENTS OF IT)



 



PS: RE: upgrading of window blinds ,you have to uninstall older versions first the best way is by using stardock central as it will do it automatically or if you don't be sure to delete all that is associated with the older versions it's no diff to any new version of a prog that your upgrading too, remember it's not an update it's an upgrade there's a big diff

Heh, why do people who steal the programs always get mad when the crack screws everything up? You got what was coming to you, in my opinion.

And don't get attitude when people try to help you, even though you were stealing. Be grateful.
