How long does an emailed Activation Take???

Had to do the "email my activation" routine, because my computer with GalCiv2 installed is not on the NET.

Sent in the email about two hours ago with the subject and body portions. Haven't received a reply....

Does it take a while??? (looked like it might have been an automated process...)

Anybody know??

thanks in advance...

Depends on time of day.  Anywhere from a couple minutes to 16 hours.

I have e-mailed in the activation e-mail for patch 1.0x but it has been returned multiple times. Is the address definitely activation@stardock.com?

If you have GC II you just have to d/l the patch and install. Not sure why you would need to activate a patch. More details please.

I've downloaded the patch but it requires product activation after install. I've followed the steps and attempted to send the activation e-mail in several times but it keeps getting returned to me!

Hi Diplomat Fuels Chief.... the latest release of 1.0X now asks you to activate the game PRIOR to playing it....

The version of 1.0X I downloaded Friday did not ask for this "activation sequence".... it looks like StarDock added this "activation sequence" with the latest version of 1.0X.

If you note in the EULA there is mention of something like "...you agree that to activate the game through the internet..." or something to that effect. I saw that when the game was first installed, thought maybe that was the serial number we had to supply to get to the download screen (notice that I could download the update now without supplying the serial number...), but this appears to be the future direction for updates???? <-- I guess this is how Stardock attempts to prevent/discourage piracy......

I guess the good news for me (and whoever has the 1.0X release from Friday) is that I can re-install that and continue to play until I get somesort of reply.... just have to play with the bugs that we'rnt fixed until Monday

[Friday 1.0X filename is GalCiv2_10X_BonusPack_030306.exe Monday 1.0X filename is GalCiv2_10X_BonusPack_030606.exe ]

Was it Monday? Maybe Tuesday.....

Frogboy :

waiting a few minutes for activation so I can play the game: good

waiting 16 hours for activation so I can play the game: BAD

Email a copy to kwilas@stardock.com and if I get it in the next hour or so, I'll try and do it tonight. And it's activate@stardock.com generally, not activation.

hey thankyou for the kind offer Avatar Nakor [see this is why I bought GalCiv 1 and 2 <- beyond the call of duty support...]

Looks like it's too late based on the timestamp of your post... oh well.... maybe it'll show up in the next 11 hours

please tell me this isn't going to be the case (having to wait almost a day to play the game...) EVERYTIME you release an update (e.g 1.1 etc..) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
