Korx starting ability bug?

I just noticed that Korx's starting ability points add up to 12 points instead of 10. Bug or by design?

It's to give them advantages over the custom races. Since as a custom race you can far more easily min-max to outplay the computer rather then just be more skilled.

ok, I'll buy that. However, how do you explain all the other races that doesn't use up all their starting ability points? For example, the Iconians have 6 points left after taking econ 10, research 20, and logistics 7.

There are also inconsistency with the racial traits, EG, the choose opponent screen says the Iconians are strong at diplomacy but weak at research but this is not reflected by the starting racial traits.

Racial traits refer to that specific AI's preferences, not any bonuses the race may have.

still that doesn't explain why some races don't have skill stats that add up to 10 or have skill stats higher than 10.

Yes but how do you explain iconians: weak research skills?they should be the technologists of the game and have best research bonus

Hey, I wanna to know if those traits, mentioned in the post above, are moddable or are hard-coded.

Just edit the main raceconfig.xml file to whatever you want (back it up first, or just edit a copy in the mods folder) and delete any XXXXXXXXXX.raceconfig files in My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2 that correspond to the race you edited.

And please don't revive ancient threads like this; they often contain information or discussions on features or game mechanics that have long since been changed. Just make a new thread if you have a question after reading an old post.
