Noob Question

Hi there.

I'm sorry for such a stupid sounding noob question, but ... how on earth do i declare war?

I cannot see any option anywhere on the trade screen, or anywhere else. Please help. The manual is next to useless.

What am i doing wrong?

If you target one of their units/planets with one of your units that can attack them it will declare war.

Building a heavily armed influence star base right next to one of their border planets usually does the trick for me. It is an invitation for conquest

You will not see it on the diplomacy screen. Though it would be nice to have it there. Attack away and you will have your war.

Well, does this sound like a big missing part of the game, or what? Why can't i declare war in the diplomacy screen? Seems odd; hopefully this will be sorted in a future patch. Anyway, thanks for your help.

You can declare war indirectly without attacking by offering Attack...[Race] in diplomacy with a third race, IIRC.
