Beating the AI on gifted

I've recently become able to beat a gifted level AI. I've only done so on tiny galaxy, normal settings, custom civ, enemy race set to 'at war' at the start. I remain at war with the enemy throughout the whole game, refusing any offers of peace.
I'm quite sure various beta testers are able to do this easily but I was just wondering how many of the people who are new to the game (like me - I didn't play GalCiv either) are able to do this. I will also post a game report as soon as I can be bothered to type one up. In the meantime here is an image which I'm sure we all enjoy seeing
