McAfee and IE7 Beta 2

Found this out after installing IE7 Beta 2.
From McAfee tech. support:
Microsoft has released the Beta 2 Preview of the Internet Explorer 7 browser. Unfortunately, at this time our products will not work with IE7 Beta 2 Preview. Microsoft will not be patching IE7 until the Public Beta is announced. McAfee plans to support the release candidate when it is available. Please contact Microsoft for more information regarding Internet Explorer release dates.

I had no access to virus scan and privacy service, windows would open but nothing would display.

If you use McAfee and have installed IE7 Beta 2 uninstall it as follows:

Click Start
Click Programs. (Windows XP Users, skip this step.)
Click Control Panel
Double-click Add/Remove Programs
Make sure the Show Updates box is checked at the top of the window
Scroll Down the list until you see "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview"
Click the Remove Button
Follow the on screen instructions to finish the uninstall.

I had this exact same problem on all 3 of my pcs. I didn't connect IE 7 with my McAfee problems. I couldn't update, scan, or even uninstall McAfee. I had to go through the registry and remove it manually. I wish I had known this about a week ago. Oh well...I will have to uninstall IE 7, but I do like it. Thanks for posting this notice.

Same here. Disappointing but not really unexpected -- that's why they call them betas...

No problem.

Have also found that after uninstalling IE7, although I don't use it the issues I was having with IE6 not working seem to have been corrected.

I have followed the uninstall steps as outlined and rolled back to IE 6 but my McAfee problems still remain. I'm also having problems with my HP all-in-one software. Multiple googles have yeilded me no help on completely removing the software installed by the beta2 preview. Guess I'll just wait for a more stable version.
