I just culturally conquered a planet with a re-education center...

That shouldn't happen, right?

Like the title says, in the game that I'm playing (right now, actually, I just alt-tabbed out of it) I just culturally conquered a planet that had a re-education center on it. Now, I'm going for a culture victory, so my culture is pretty much kicking ass and taking names, but still - the text on the re-education center says right on it "prevents this planet from being taken culturally " and it's a super project, so just one per empire, so you'd hope it does what it says it does (and hope it does it well!)

Strange - they seem to work OK in my games. I guess it's possible that it was actually completed on the turn the planet flipped as I think the culture flip dice roll happens before updating the build queues.

I've often flipped planets with the re-ed center being one or two turns from completion as the AI does actively attempt to stop your flips (seen planets full of Cultural Exchanges).

it could also be that the re-education center was completed by one race, then another conquered it through invasion, then you got it culturally. there was mention by the devs that galactic achivements bonuses were not transferring to the new race after a planet is taken over, maybe that happens with some of the super projects as well?

That could well be it - I'm almost certain that the planet was originally owned by someone else before I got it.
