where do i find the trade science?

I really would like to test the traderoutes but i can´t find the trade"science"
where do i get it?
I admit i haven't looked at the tutorials
i play the first campaigngame

Trade (along with a couple of other techs) isn't available in the first campaign missions.

oh
i suspected that - but i couldn´t find any info on that anywhere in the game so i thought I better check that i dont have a corrupt file
