Anyone still playing GalCiv1?

Fallen behind in Campaigns.

Anyone still playing the first one?
I still have to beat the Altarian Prophecy campaigns... want to do that before I start on the Dread Lord ones...

I might have to get playing GC1 if my copy of GC2 doesn't arrive soon.

I've had my copy of GC1 out for a week already . Hopefully GC2 will arrive in the next day or two tho - the anticipation is killing me.

No, galciv was good, but the combat was flawed, and the interface made playing large games tedious.

Galciv2 did a great job of fixing these flaws. Yeah there are some minor things I would have done differently, but galciv2 will be the new standard for this type of game.

I, for one, am still playing GalCiv 1 as well as trying to learn GalCiv 2. The games are similar, but different enough. I really enjoy much about the first game and will continue the sandbox version side by side with the new game. That's why I hope Stardock is going to keep their promise to get back to tweaking GalCiv 1 / Altarian Prophecy.

I am still a Civ 1 fan. The Mod packs like Stellar warfare can keep it interesting for a very long time.

I still play GCI since I will not be able to play GCII on computer at work. GCI works good (with a occasion crash or corrupt save file) on my PII-400 NT4.0 workstation with 4MB graphic card. NT4.0 really only supports up to DirectX 3. It can take a bit of time for a mid-late game move to complete on a huge map but I can do other stuff during that time

I could get a new computer but this one is stable and has most of what I need on it and keeps me from having to reconfigure a new box with the different software packages I use
