Windows explorer icon remains active when closed

I have several icons in my ObjectDock tray (Plus) that I start and they show the running indicators when they are active. I created an Explorer icon using explorer.exe, but this keeps showing active even when the explorer window is closed.


Any ideas?

explorer.exe?


if you kill it, your start bar disappears.  if you restart it, it comes back. i'm just guessing that means as long as you have a start bar, it's running.
