Toned down Graphics

I think that my graphical settings are not on the highest posssible settings (e.g. lights don't appear on the dark side of a planet) even though i have the reccomended specs. Is there a way to force the game run at the highest graphics level?
Are you guys at stardock planning to include graphical settings in a update?

PS1: How can i track my order to see when the game box will be sent to me?
PS2: When will you make an update with the terrorstar? ( I haven't mentioned that for a while now )

The lights on the back of planets are simple glowmaps, so I would assume you just don't have enough population to get the lights--pretty much any hardware should support them, and if GC2 detects support of a feature it WILL use it.

Yes, the lights on the planets, depend on population. And class.

I didn't know that. It's not that i care much about the lights. I just think that the game doesn't make use of the maximum power of my system. I get this impression mostly from the combat viewer and especially the invasion videos. Maybe there is a possibility to reduce brightness for those two only to make it more atmospheric?

Should my Athlon XP 2400+, Sapphire 9600 Atlantis (128mb), and 1024mb of memory run it at its fullest detail level (w/o anti aliasing at 1024*768 or higher)?
