Am I doing this right?

I am not sure if I am playing this game right, I check the graphs and I am usually one of the top 3 but its 1 Jul 2225 and not much has happened, is this normal?

At the start of the game everyone has to research their weapons and basic techs, the game start is very clam. Although, be careful not to get relaxed, unless you set the AI to moron the game will pick up very very quickly.

I think it's normal. It takes a while to research weapon techs and planetary invasion so there's bound to be a few years of peace, colonizing, and constructor action before you see any war.

If it takes too long to get into the action, you can increase the speed of research in the galaxy setup screen.
