A few items i noticed

just some casual metaverse gameplay

A. When you load a saved game, and you were having a positive flow of bc and not losing it, when you first load, it will show your amount of bc in yellow (meaning that you are losing money), you go to the domestic policy screen and double check to make sure your having positive flow of money, you see that you are actually earning money, the only way you cna get the indicator to acknowledge it is if you change one of the values on how you spend money (move the tax bar for example). If you do not do this, the game will suddenly recognize this next turn and correct it, but you wont recieve the money from that turn.

b. When selecting your abilities on the race customization screen when starting a new game, under trade routes, instead of having additional trade routes available, it is showing what lucks like the trade section. (trade routes gives you more routes, trade gives you more money with each route)

c. when you design your own personal ship in the game, if you later decide to upgrade it, even after you hit the save button, the game will not remove the old version of the design, so if you make 20 different edits to a specific ship, you will have 30 entries for it.

d. sometimes, the icons on the right side of the screen get stuck before they reach the bottom and just stay there until they are removed since they are no longer a "current event"

e. when it comes to negotiations for items between civs, there seems to be a few bugs with what color the offer appears in when compared with the response from the AI charecter. (eg the text appears green but the AI says something like "and this is good for us how?") no pattern i have figured out quite yet.

Questions

a. Why can the AI complain about one of my influnce starbases located in their sector, but i cant complin about the influence starbase that they build in my sector?

b. the farming increases the population cap, does it increase it for a specific planet or does it affect the entire civilization.

c. when you complete a trade agreement with a civ for a tech like "phasors mark III" that you recieve in the communications, why can you use it even if you havent researched "phasors mark II".?

d. what happend to the box that auto-launched a ship once it is complete?

Sugestions

a. Perhaps some of the galactic acheivments/wonders can be given special tags in the selection menu, as it stands, you only know its a wonder if you read the description. Maybe a star by it? or highlight it in a shade of light blue.

b. Perhaps a way to move social projects in the building queue. just so you dont have to delete everything above it to build a specific thing.

Just a few things that i would want to know if it was my game. Great game and especially the AI. ok, back to my lame little program.

While I havent played the game yet (i'm building a new comp that will easily be able to run it in 2 weeks) I'm pretty sure I can answer Question C for you.

When the player gives you Mark III phasor tech they are giving you all the info you need to build the gun, build all the sub parts and how to make it work. Knowledge of how to build the earlier type of gun would be not be needed.

It would be as if some one went back in time and gave WWI Germany all they would need to know to build an M16. They would be able to build M16s but not any of the guns which came before it.

I am curious to see the rest of your issues addressed btw. I'm always looking for as much game info as I can find

a) I'd like to be able to complain as well befor heving to destroy it in order to ensure *some* privacy in my home systems

b)planet only

c) skam240 answered. But I think that if some previous tech allowed you some kind of new starbase module then you'll need to search the previsous epecific tech anyway.

d) i looked for it as well

As far as your statement c goes, the game leaving copies of your ships behind: If you don't change the name of the ship it will overwrite the old one instead of copying it to a new one. Think of it like a file, when you rename the ship you are doing a "save as" and making a new copy of the file.

correct, i am saving them as the same ship name, but instead of having 1 entry for it by that name, there is 2, and if i upgrade again, there is 3, then 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, etc.

Good point, I suppose the closest thing you can do to possibly avoid war and still remove the threat is demand that they give you the starbase and maybe even pay them something.

b. the farming increases the population cap, does it increase it for a specific planet or does it affect the entire civilization.

Just the planet

c. when you complete a trade agreement with a civ for a tech like "phasors mark III" that you recieve in the communications, why can you use it even if you havent researched "phasors mark II".?

Well, it is basically the same thing but smaller and maybe cheaper

d. what happend to the box that auto-launched a ship once it is complete?

You can auto launch by right clicking the blue icon

A solution to this if it suits you is to leave the name the same (TSS Viper) and use the comments for the upgrade number (mark IV). The downside of that would be that the earlier versions would not be available in future games.

A compromise would be to name the basic design (TSS Viper), then name the successor (TSS Viper X) with the classification in the comments. That way you would have the original design and only one other class active.

its not about a soulution on how to handle it, it is about a problem that needs to be fixed. I use the description to tag them but any time i do an upgrade, it is another thing on the list, and if i do alot of upgrades, it gets very cluttered

This is generally because the offer is good, but the AI knows it shouldn't do the trade (for example, youre stronger than him and trying to buy military techs). At least, that's the only time I've seen it green while being rejected.

as i understood it, if the offer was acceptable it would appear green, if not it would appear red.
