Best Buy Holding Copies Until Tomorrow (2/23)

I just called two local Best Buy stores (in Phoenix, AZ) and found that both of them have copies of GalCiv 2 on-hand but that they won't sell them until tomorrow because they have a street date for GalCiv 2 of 2/23/06. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Is Take 2 trying to sabotage this game? No one retail seems to have it even in their warehouse and Best Buy has some but the release date is wrong. What is going on here?

I just went to a Best Buy in Ann Arbor Michigan and they had 7 copies on the shelf. Needless to say I took one.

Also of note, one Gamestop (out of 3) and no EBgames (of 2) in my area had the game

I have no idea why Best Buy is using the 23rd as a street date.    However, at this point trying to "fix" things would probably take longer than just waiting things out, due to the red tape involved with going through the corporate chain...

For the record, in Central PA, I purchased my copy of GalCiv 2 at Best Buy yesterday, 2/21/2006. Was a good thing too, they only had 2 copies left .

Here in Ottawa, our EBGames is (as of today) listing the release date as the 23rd. Don't know if they have copies in the storeroom though.

I phoned EBGames, here , in Montreal, and was told that the shipment did not get through today (the 22nd) and should be in on the 23rd.

I checked 2 Walmarts (one in MD the other in DE), Gamestop, Best Buy and Target (is it even available here?) and no one has the game I could have tried Circuit City but I gave up.

Future Shop (again, here in Canada) listed the release as having occurred Feb. 7th. No copies were in stores today, nor did the staff have any information about when it would arrive. Bestbuy doesn't even list the game on their website. Hopefully EBGames will get it in this week.
