Modify existing ship designs?

Hi,

Is there any way to copy an existing ship design into the new ship builder?

Designing decent looking ships from scratch can take a loooong time. Being able to COPY existing designs and only having to change/upgrade the parts you want would be a HUGE time saver and convenience (compared to building every new ship class from scratch), and be very helpful for those of us who are less artistically inclined. :SURPRISED:

Well, you get a copy behavior if you upgrade a ship and save it under a new name

The designs are saved untill you delete them, but they wont show up agin in another game untill you have all the techs you need to build them. If you realy like a "design" you can build it with only the hull and "extras" and it will show up everytime you unlock that hull. Then you can upgrade it to what ever techs you have and need for the game you are playing at the time. But save it as somthing differant when your done upgradeing it or you will overwrite the "template" ship.
