Last night while I was fast alseep
the winter storm a blowing
God came to me within a dream
and endowed me with a 'knowing'

He said "Hey, sage, you silly girl
everyday you scry so hard
but when it comes to normal things
you're such a dang re-tard.

You ask questions, true enough
but open up your eyes,
just what do you think 'preview' means
in 'Upload' Wincustomize?

It means you size it for a page
so others get a view
before they decide to dowload it
and nicely credit you!"

Then He sent me to the forum
to confess good naturedly
that it took God and dreams and Grace
to reveal great truth to me.

So here I stand my face all red
twiddling my thumbs
in embarrassment to show the world
I really can be dumb.

So should I resubmit the art?
At what size should I place
the preview as it needs to be
without egg on my face?

To bad we don't have a poetry section.
You might want to post it (the poem) at DA.

800x600 or 1024x768 would probably work best.

I sent the zip in 1024....but the preview was also in 1024.....you know what else I just found out?

I spent a good part of yesterday looking for some of my favorite windowblinds to reinstall because I didn't back anything up....but I was in my 'limited account' so I saved em all in a folder in my documents......so then I went to my administrator account (where I installed my WB4x from my CD into)....and then moved them all into the correct folder....one of them didn't show up in the menu in display so I went back and checked em and while I was hovering my mouse over the folder....it had this HUGE multi MB size.....what????????????? lol...so now I have to re download em all AGAIN today

OMG LMAO......I'm having a long run of duh!!!!!

anyway.....at least I wrote down on paper my favorites this time so I don't have to look so hard through every page.....the only thing I'm not happy about is some of the beautiful premium skins I got with my OD aren't available just with my WB 4......so

another question lol

should I uninstall my WB again, go for broke....reinstall my OD from CD again?

I'm beginning to think my problems really weren't because the program was so big but that there were already problems with my computer that were complicated because when I reinstalled it about two weeks ago all hell broke loose.....I thought I went through all the right steps...registering everything and stuff...but maybe it didn't work right because my computer was already screwed up....

If I DO...uninstall the WB program.....reinstall my OD CD...do I have to re-register it again? I'm still me....still same email....same phone #...same address....nothing has changed......or can I just install it again and use it?

Last time I tried to use the icon packager I tried to change the color in a sweet icon package and somehow it changed the color of the whole package instead of saving it as a separate package...so I freaked out and deleted the package cuz I thought I broke it and didn't want something broken on my computer cuz I didn't know what it was going to do...

are you still with me,

this stuff really isn't easy for a country gal transplanted from the city many many moons ago......and has spent most of her time taking pictures and wandering around the woods communing with nature and writing poetry lol

Hmmmmmmm....guess everybody's workin........so I'll just hang loose on doing anything until I get an anwer or two to try to figure out how to go about this

A 1024x768 preview is fine.

Don't understand why you have to download them all again, if you only had a problem with one.

To be honest, I can't really follow what you're trying to say/ask ...... (maybe I'm just being dense)

Why do you think you need to uninstall the program? You've only mentioned a problem with one skin...

What is inside the HUGE multi MB folder?

I probably won't be able to get right back to this thread, but maybe someone else can help if we get a clearer picture of the problem(s).

If I'm following you right, I would re-install OD (not from your disk unless your subscription ran out) starting with downloading Stardock Central from Stardock.com, entering your registration numbers and then downloading the most recent versions of the programs your insterested in. Once you've got them installed, then download the skins you want and they should automatically install.

Hi Koasati..(Super Duper Wizop Koasati)

First..let me tell you how I went about it and then maybe you can figure it out for me...First I hunted down the skins I remembered I had....then since I was in my limited user account and couldn't install directly to my WB (my limited account doesn't give me permission) I made a folder and unzipped them into their folders (I made sure to name them EXACTLY as what the download's name was). Then I logged off my limited user...logged onto my administrator account and moved each file into my windowblinds folder where all the skins that came on the disk were..Then I went to display panel to check to make sure they were in there...all of them except Dark Mist's Fraction showed up so I went back to the windowblinds folder to see if I had maybe somehow put it in the wrong folder or something....nope, it was there!....While I was sitting there contemplating my navel lol...trying to figure out what the heck I did wrong, I had my mouse hovering over one of the folders.....and it read like 3.? mb when I thought the download said it was like a 1 mb download....is that because they were in zips when I downloaded them and then they expanded when I extracted them? Anyway too late....I've already deleted them...I thought maybe I was still in the middle of my stupid streak

Oughtta help the download counts though, eh?

Oh! Thanks Sir Lantec!.....I haven't used any of my windowblinds since I reinstalled it from disk..I wanted to rebuild my library of skins back to where it was before I did....I still have my ser#s and stuff that were emailed to me a couple of weeks ago (last time I hollered HELP!!) so I'll go ahead and reinstall from the emails.
