TOTALLY IMMORAL!

Download Farms...

This is DIRECTLY from StarDock...

"t requires an updated version of Stardock Central that has been designed to make use of our updated server farm infrastructure. So in theory, your download speeds should be very fast."

So the clear implication is that they have CHANGED Stardock Central from free-range servers to servers being tortured in some sinister-sounding 'server farm infrastructure.'

Servers are tools, yes, but can they not have some dignity and freedom and happiness in their short lives of toil? Why a server farm infrastructure? Why not FREE-RANGE servers? So that they can frolic and play, rather than being cooped up and every bit of productivity can be wrung out of them? It is cruel, heartless, and morally wrong.

See what happens when you make me wait for the game like everyone else...;>)

I'd like to add another thing: I was going to start a thread, whining about not being able to pre-download the files at 2 a.m. here in germany. But after opening Stardock Central I was shocked to find that it is already online. And to add insult to injury it is even using my whole bandwidth...

Dang, now I have to go to bed grumpy, not being able to complain.

[/rant]

And completely off topic: Go, Stardock go!

The antibiotics we pump into them makes them fast and juicy though!

mmm... sever juice... fresh from the farm!

Just as long as you don't have them on steroids, Frogboy. Cuz then they'd never get into the Hall of Fame.

Or something.

The servers are much happier on the farm, and you don't want them angry...

wow! you guys are really desperate to get this game.

Well I hate to post and run, but as a member of the private gamma test I have two options right now:
1) Stay and read bizarre posts about rumors of mutant servers on steroids running amok, or
2) Play a few rounds of GalCiv 2

I think my choice is clear.

PS: The game is super fun, the user-creatable ship designs look great, and the addiction factor is HIGH! If you thought Beta 5 was good, wait until you see the final version... but I've already said too much.

You DO realize that there is enough time until we can play this game to hunt down and kill those who are currently enjoying it???
Especially those who rub our faces in the fact???
Brad may have pity on you and release those EXE files before we find you, then again he might not....

Start in zip code 30346. I'll be here until Thursday. My laptop has the release candidate. MUAHAHAHA!!

Especially those who rub our faces in the fact???

But that is my reward for all the testing and bug reporting I've done. It was clearly stated in the non-disclosure form that I may: "rub it in the faces of the general public that you are playing the game prior to retail release, provided you do not disclose any aspects of the game that are not considered to be public knowledge and have not been provided to the media in an official press release..." Sorry, I'm just following the agreement.

If I have to run like a coward, then so be it.

Concentrated Server Feeding Operations (CSFOs) are highly controversial. They allow companies to maximize efficiency at the cost of the basic dignity of servers. In addition to violating common decency, each CSFO generates enough forum waste to overload the forum waste treatment capacity of New York City, which has 17 such treatment plants. Various species of microbes have been found only in this highly toxic waste, including dinoflagellates (such as the "troll" genus) that lead to the dreaded "forum rot". It is highly communicable, and there is no known cure.
