Hall of Fame?

Will there be one?

Im really excited about this game, I've liked everything I've read about it. What I havent figured out is wether there will be a hall of fame (like that in MOO2), which would give the game a lot of replay-value. Id assume that a high-score would be a must-have, but MOO3 proved me wrong. So, is there one?
Thanks

Unfortunately not.

There is the Metaverse which is some kind of heavily extended Hall of Fame but it only works online.

This is something we will probably add in an update though. The biggest problem was the scoring system.  Because we have kept tweaking the various stats until we felt really comfortable with the balancing, the scoring would change dramatically.

Once real world gamers have it and we see what their scores are, then we could do that.

I'd love that. Thanks.

OK, Hall of Fame to me means a list with all your highscores on your machine. Am I wrong there? If I'm right, explain to me why you need to know real world gamers' scores to implement that.

What determines your score in a game you win?
(1) Difficulty level
(2) Galaxy size
(3) # of AI races (you must defeat)
(4) # of turns to win the game

I think the # of turns to complete the game should not impact your score. A player may choose to extend the game to research higher techs and try out things.

Which is precicesly why taking more turns would have an effect on your score. If not, you would simply keep researching until you've researched the entire tech tree and get more points then someone who was more efficient in their research strategies.

I like this idea !! Adding Hall of Fall Scores is one way a person can gauge how well they are progressing & learning the game, I really hope this feature is added, it's sorely missed!

Well even assuming that highscores is only available locally, it would be nice if the scores are a reflection of actual tactical ability rather than winning through cheap tactics.

Real world gamers would help stardock balance out the scoring system.. at least that's why, I think.
