Haven't noticed this (my SyGate F/W did not detect IconX call-home) but a Thumbs Down because:

With the new IconX loaded the desktop context menus are not being skinned (this happened immediately after loading new version thru SDC, before any kind of reboot). Unload IconX, back comes the skinning. This only pertains to Desktop context menu and Desktop icons context menus that I noticed. Context for say ObjectDock, Explorer, IE and others still skin fine withnew IconX loaded.

Update: Toying around, after IconX properties panel is opened, all returns to normal (skinning wise). After it has been closed all too seems fine. However, unload IconX, load IconX, back to the issue, until again IconX control panel is opened.

RoamingGnome, if I am reading this right, you did not reboot after update, this update needs reboot to be complete.

dwax, no phone home here either, just checked my internet apps in firewall settings, no IconX.

Cavan, yes I did reboot, I simply indicated that it happened immediately after download, not after reboot and reboot did not fix the issue.
