Locking Desktop

Just set up a custom desktop with desktopx professional and I can't seem to find a way to 'lock' down the changes so that I can't move things around anymore. I have it set up how I like it and I seem to always end up accidently dragging things around. Any help would be appreciated

switch to desktopx client by right clicking on the desktopx builder icon in the system tray.as long as you are running desktopx builder mode you can't lock down the desktop.before switching save the changes you have made by double clicking on the builder icon & then choosing option"save desktop as".

On a related note . . . there used to be a way to REALLY lock a DX Desktop down down. Things like not allowing [ctrl]-[alt]-[delete] or shutting down or accessing anything but the objects allowed.

Is that still possible? I was looking to builda new desktop for my little girl and wanted it to be . . . controlled.

Zubaz - not at home so I can't look - open the 'Welcome' and right click on it - any of those options in properties? (only one I can remember is the hide/show hotkeys)

No love there Bichur, but thanks. In DX Builder mode, the second tab of the configuration lets one hide toolbar and desktop icons . . . but no security settings.

I did find this link from DX circa 2002: https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/docs/#_Toc5874889 that does what I want. I just can't find it in the current build

Any help would be golden.

I looked in the newsgroup archive at google. It looks like security was pulled and then was going to be put back.

Any Stardockians want to respond?

I remember some of that.  There was a post maybe 4-5 months ago asking about it too.  Seem to recall poster had wanted some lock down features in order to set up a kiosk.

Seems that if any version of DTX offered security, it would be the Pro/Enterprise versions.

Zubaz: Stardock forums have trouble with links that have underscores.  They come out right at WC but not at Stardock.  Best bet for those is use tinyurl.
