REQUEST: Elitists, rage quitters, whiners RUIN online experience

Funny to see you here Nolc, i played against you last game and all you did was complain every minute, about the imbalanced game and AI. Your reg + rook combo vs 2 UB's... you should have beaten us in the first place. Instead i got a whining and complaining every minute and a "fuck off asswipe" when i said "gg" at the end, very nice.

My rage quiting is understandable. Wait 30 minutes to start a game, finally get inside, one or two people leave, ok, AI takes over, there's plenty of us inside to continue. But then I get phonecalls, places to be, people to see so yeah, I rage quit cursing everyone for that 30 minutes wasted.

My concern is of the future. P2P doesn't allow for proper control over cheaters. I see big problems for this game when that time comes.

A visual banlist like from Dota eh? Without being offensive, I won't contribute, but I wish you the best of luck. Besides, I'd probably be doing more posting of pictures than playing if I did with the way the online populace usually is.

People like this happen more often than you think, heh. Most of WoW's playerbase are people like that..

BTW: I am generally impressed with the maturity of the players i have run across whilst playing DG... I mean DotA has the worst community of all time, and comparitivley this is a... a..  black tie event at thegovernor's mansion or something... But this type of game is harsh because despite great effort and performance on one player's part his team might fail him and he will lose...

But internet annonomity will always bring out horrible personalities... Some i bet who are really polite and soft-spoken IRL..

Raz, you strike me as the kind of guy who takes this game a little too seriously... be careful when you say things like " you should have beaten us in the first place" you might turn into what youare bemoaning...

Well, I suppose that blows the OP's complaints out of the water, assuming these allegations are true.

Also, online play like this always brings along with it it share of whiners, rage quitters, elitists, etc. That's just the nature of the game. In the couple games I've played, I didn't have much of a problem with either my teammates or my opponents.

If this is possible, then the flaw is either with the game design or your inability to come up with a strategy to clinch the game in your favor, not with the players that are camping. As long as the Citadel is up, and the players on the defensive are able to rack up kills, it could be possible to get enough gold to upgrade things to a high enough extent to turn the game around.

thanks aborted_fetus but i cant take any credit for my rank, i was testing favor items by playing many 1-2 min custom games. PM me and i'll tell you how. This skewed my rank, but i have still played a lot of games vs players.

Dedicated Servers don't have proper control over cheaters either. Believe me, VAC didn't help. Some Anti-Cheat Scripts created more problems then it was worth. Punkbuster used to think my Teamspeak Overlay was a hack. After admining for CS:S, dedicated has ZERO control of cheaters. Some might catch the starting one, but if you know what you are doing, only a good eye can see those.

TLDR

teammates feeding the opposing team ruin game experience for me, i think most the time its just the AI though, seeing as how 1-3 people drop every game /cry ;___;

I disagree with this, i had a 2v3 match the other day where me and my teammate got capped in are base for 30m before we finaly pushed back enough and end up wining the game, so no i will never give up and just let someone win you want to win you earn it.

but i always say gg if i win or lose.

But OP is right, had a game vrs a guy whining the whole game i was exploiting because i killed the AI leaders when they tried capping my flags and killing my towers.

I mean he ran from me everytime so what i am to sit in my base then for his AI to win him the game?

First of all, i did not complain every minute i think i wrote like 6 lines or something. I bitched about our AI Rock that got killed so figgen often, he was so total free lot for you everytime running against the friggen towers, you just needed to pick the gold from him. Adn i bitcht arround ebcause i was level 16 or something and could not even dream of killing one of you 2 in 1 on 1 when you still where level 11 @_@.

and i said fuck of asswipe because you said

oh and i bitcht arroudn about not having a "i give up" buttom because the last 30 mins of that game where just a waste of time.

Ok i may have come off wrong, i meant situations where its impossible to recover from. Such as the game where the other team has all the flags but 2 in a large map, has fully or close to upgraded reinforcements. No way can my team recover from the onslaught of giants, catapults and their well equipped demigods. Some players camp at the crystal instead of trying alternative routes to get flags etc. This is even worse in slaughter game type.

Are there favor items online that aren't in the SP game?

Wow there's another post just like this one that hss heated up... Lets talk about the positive things a bad community can do for us... When i first started playing DotA, people chewed me out horrendously, as I'm sure alot of noobs were.. However, because of that I was compelled to become a better player and hold my own. A good friend of mine had a similar reaction with DotA. The important part of this lesson is when you finally are able to hold your own, don't become a fuck-tard towards novices.

No there are the same, i didnt know at the time but you can play skirmish and customize the game the same way as custom games.

Well noob bashing is like a right of passage, it comes with every game and i've had my fair share of bashing and a few dishing as well

But as a community we can really do without the constant complaining about game imbalances and how much teammates suck. I NEVER heard a complaint from a side that was winning. The imbalances suddenly disapper when you are winning it seems

I agree with you completely, and as I and others have said in other threads, this is an inherent problem with DG: that even when the game gets to a point where one team is dominating the other team, then there should be ways to speed up the winning team's victory instead of having the endgame become a 30 minute war of attrition to see how long the winning team's patience will last before they just give up and quit.

Of course, this has to be balanced with not having the victory be too foregone of a conclusion too early. However, in its current state, DG is probably erring too much on the side of caution in this regard.

As for Slaughter, I propose that the crystal be made temporarily destructable. Please see my thread here.

Well dota is infamous for having the worst community on the net so it's inevitable that a lot of it would carry over to demigod.

I dont know about you guys but Ive had many games turn around... especially on that small 2v2 map where one team pushes us back to our 2nd to last flag the last gold one.... buying time allowed us to upgrade and turn the tide around. Mostly because they had stronger starting DGs and I needed time to get mine up to full strength... We offset their flags by upgradingo our citadel and bogging down a bit.

I agree with the whining a bit. Some chatter is fine, even if it is a complaint. It's usually a matter of context though. But the reason not to leave is to avoid the disconnect.

This makes you sound just as immature as they are. They already have the shame of losing, who cares about the rest.

i have a story about a type of player that ruins games.  i had an oak on my team in a 3v3 skirmish and i was regulus.  he kept going in by himself and dying.  he did this until he was 1-15 or something.  my other partner told him to stop dying and play more carefully by not going in alone.  i told the oak to either spend his gold on our citadel upgrades or, better, buy HP and armor items (he had less HP than me).  neither of us made fun of him really or said he was bad, just tried to give him direction.  what did he do?  he called us "whiners" and quit right after dying for a final time.  the result?  we got a bot that died less, but we also were dealing with an extremely fed enemy team that had better grunts, better items, and more levels.

because its not just the people who loose that do this, some people who win keep taking jabs at the opposing team each time they kill them and want them to rage quit. Especially the ex-beta testers.
