I'm a sick man.....I need help

why skinners shouldn't use other computers than thier own

I'm visiting my parents for 3 weeks and I have (as I promised my wife) left my laptop at home. This has turned out to be a painfull experience for me!

The first thing I saw when I turned on my dad's computer was the res. he was using. His screen is 1280x1024. Why would he turn down the res to 1024x768? When I showed him this he said "Oh now everything looks clearer". My next task was to activate the quicklaunch buttons (I did that without asking). The next time I came back, he had removed them!

Yes, I can still log on to WC and keep tabs on whats going on here, check my download count and such, but here is my biggest problem: My dad uses default luna!

I'm just itching to customize this PC or at least use the silver theme. This blue is killing me  He won't even let me install LogonStudio

I think maybe I should go ahead and change small things and hope he likes it. I'm on a mission: to turn this man from the dark side!

Once you take the path to the dark side forever will it rule your destiny...

If there is still good in him, then he can be turned to the good side

To bad, as I love changing my Puter, but his puter is like a mans car, ya don't mess with it.  Bring your own next time.

Start small...
Cursors first, then move on to icons.
Then the Bootskin and Logon Screens.
You move on from there.
You are not alone.

Throw one of IR's WB's up there as a subtle start.

That's right and if you do anything to his computer, the next time it screws up it's automatically your fault. If ya know what mean.

just do it and tell him that you did nothing, make him out to be the crazy one

Dont do anything drastic, just take him over to the WB section and show him some cool skins.

NO! Don't do it. It's his box and he has it set up the way he wants it. It's like in Texas, you can mess with the missus but not the tools or the truck !!! Sorry. Long day. I know that doesn't make any sense, but that there computer is his !!     !!!

Everywhere I go, I always want to change people's computers. They just look so damn ugly most of the time and I wonder how they can bear to sit and look at the damn thing. I went somewhere last week, and the mouse had a rubber ball underneath it.... YUK! After spending 20 seconds trying to get the cursor to move, I ripped the mouse apart and removed about 2 years worth of sticky black gunk from the rollers...... *shudder*.

I shut it down in disgust after looking at an uncustomized Windows ME for 10 minutes.
I'm never going back there................

My Dad still blames me for the demize of his last puter. He says that after I visited last, everything took longer to load.

I don't think he's up for any changes I might suggest

LOL I feel your pain 2of3.About three years ago I was at my parents place and I was "allowed" to send an e-mail on my dad's comp.
That's all I did, send a mail.About a year later my Dad phoned me all frustrated and angry saying that his pc had locked up and asking what the hell I had "done to it" the last time I was there.
You should have seen his pc set up though...eeek.Nice pc and all that but set at 800x600 blue luna with all windows opening full screen. The start menu alone was the size of an A4 sheet of paper.
I made my excuses and left.
Now that I think back he was the same with his Hi-Fi when I was a kid lol.

hehe my father-in-law runs his system at 800x600! :/ When ever I am forced to use it, I bump up the res. haha Just seems like a waste to run a PC at such a low res., you know?

I know how I'd feel if someone changed anything on my computer, but mine is already customized!
This is just bare bones default which is an eyesore IMAO

I've managed to turn a few friends on to customization, which seems to be my mission in life!

My wife runs at 800x600 Luna. It makes my eyes bleed.  Gushers.

I finally got her to use SoulLuna2 by intimating it was a new theme by MS.  After she used and liked it showed her LightBlue. We've never gotten further than that.

I have OB docked and hidden on all my systems and when on other systems I get so frustrated when I'm bumping the side of the screen AND NOTHING HAPPENS!!  Grrr.  How do people work this way?  I need OB to run off a thumbdrive.

It. Is so. hard.
