Thanks. But, I'm not having trouble. I was just asking a question about general CPU utilization for Curtains. I didn't want to waste my time downloading/installing/uninstalling if it utilizes CPU similar to WindowsBlinds.
MKANET
The only thing I want is to add blur to Windows File Explorer. I don't want to change any anything else. Will Curtains use CPU cycles to maintain this effect? While gaming, I don't want to waste 1%-2% CPU cycles for a cosmetic effect. I know in the past, Stardock WindowsBlinds costed 1%-2% CPU to maintain it's themes.
I'm confused.. are you guys using Kodi 16.0 alpha 1 or 16.0 alpha 2.. or maybe, one of the nightly builds? http://kodi.tv/kodi-16-0-alpha-jarvis-at-your-service/ Just to be clear, it only affects the latest "DX11 builds of Kodi" (and newer) ...not to be confused with just having DirectX11 installed on Windows with any of the older versiona of Kodi. If you guys are definitely us
Can you please post a screenshot with Kodi 16 and WindowBlinds skins working together? I'd love to see how you managed that.
Actually my post wasn't to ask for help. :) It's to report a fundamental change in Kodi's next major update which makes WindowBlinds completely incompatible with Kodi. It's not any particular skin. This issue affects ALL WindowBlinds skins. FYI: XMBC/Kodi has always been fully skinnable (glass frames and titlebar) with WindowBlinds since even the old XMBC days. It's not the skins that are the problem, i
Just a heads up that Kodi 16 (with native Directx11 rendering) will not be compatible with Windowblinds themes other than the default OS/Generic theme. Otherwise, the symptoms mentioned in the post below occur. Based on the developer response, the problem is caused by Windowblinds skins. So, @Neil.. can you please make sure that WB 10 themes are compatible with the the upcoming Kodi? <a href="http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=218274&pid=2
I have the same exact issue. I can even re-produce the strange behavior, exactly the same way. WIndows 8.1 Pro 64bit Latest version of Modern Mix and Windowblinds.
This same exact thing happens to me when watching Netflix. I can even reproduce the same way you force it to work. As soon as I press the FullScreen toggle, I cant see the video; but, still can hear the audio. This happens on my dual monitor PC. I tried searching for a fix; but seemed to only find your post. Im using ModernMix 1.21 on Window 8.1 with WindowBlinds.
Hmm... yes, that's what I suggested/implied... Maybe I should have worded it a little better...
I'm guessing there are some gamers here. GTA5 for the PC didn't seem to start for many people. I personally spent hours looking for a solution; as none of the online solutions/suggestions worked. I figured maybe this forum post may be helpful to some people. I was able to resolve the issue by curing all three of the items below. It's the first PC game I had to literally jump through hoops to get it working: 1.&n
Has anyone tried any of the newer version of Firefox yet to see if the problem is resolved? I'm still stuck on Firefox 28.0
I'm curious if this issue was resolved; as, I haven't upgraded to Windows 8.1 (this issue being one of the main reasons). I depend on the transparency effect to get a peak at what's behind my active windows. However. WITHOUT the blur effect, overlapped transparency windows can become are hard to read (defeating the whole purpose of having a usable transparency effect I currently use Windows 7 64bit (with a WB theme that
I haven't found any workarounds that will display the titlebar correctly; at least if I want to use my favorite Firefox and WindowBlinds themes. For now, I reverted back to Firefox 28. Does anyone know if Stardock is working on a patch that fixes this issue in the next WindowBlinds beta?
I have a skin that looks best after I tweak the Aero blur transparency settings for the titlebar, etc. So, I end up having to manually copy the respective skin.wbo file for it in the WBO subdirectory. I was hoping there was an easy way to save these settings as defaults in the skin.uis.wb4 file.
Where in SkinStudio can I change the below black font to white. The black font can't be seen on a black menu background. I'd really appreciate your help.
Im using a customized semi-dark glassy skin which depends on Aero blur for it to look very nice. I'm curious if Stardock figured out how to get Aero blur working again under Win8. This is the only thing holding me back from considering to upgrade to Win8. If there still isn't support for this, I'm curious if there's an simple way to find out what my Skin would look like exactly under Win8 (without me having to install Win8). </p
Thanks for your reply. What file type are you referring to?
You can open the file with 7-zip.Do not need to convert it. You can change it with most art programs. Also, if you want to permanently change it, do it through skin studio, explorer backgrounds. OR, just set it as your background through wb and it will stay that way until you change it or click on th
I was able to find some of the Windowblind textures under: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds\Textures However, I can't find the one highlighted below. Does anyone know how to use that texture in a skin, so it doesnt have to be manually selected by the user? I thought perhaps the image file I'm looking for is a .texture file in the above-mentioned directory. However, I'm not sure what application would be able
Im almost done enhancing my moderately dark, glassy, aero theme. However, I noticed when I RDP, I still have this ugly "XP-like" blue bar on top. Im curious if there's a way to change this bar to match the rest of the skin in Skinstudio. If not, is there a way to change it without Skinstudio?
I'm so sorry to doubt you. You're absolutely right! I should've known I was doing something wrong. I had to define the image (per your suggestion) in order to be able to change the text color Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Sorry guys, woke up wrong!lol. Apologies for rudeness.

However, the
Hi Neon6. I really appreciate the offer. That is very nice of you. I dont mind donating for your time to make a new avatar for me. Please check your PM!
Yeah, this forum rocks! I was a little worried that my obscure Skinstudio questions burried deep in the stardock forums may not get even noticed. But, to my surprised they were fully answered immediately! This forum is a really great tool. Of course, I always search the forum first before posting.
That makes it even more odd. Since the rest of the text on the menu (everything but the mouse over), is in a completely different place: Theme part details/Explorer style Me/Button/Text. At least, that's the only way I know how to change that non-mouseover menu text. I guess, there's no easy way to group shared items. It would be great if one day they make an elaborate WYSIWYG Windows GUI sandbox within Skinstudio where we could just clic
You were right about the backgound being the same as the start menu popup background. Thanks so much! However, the the font color isn't changed under additional vista and 7 parts/menu item. Interestingly, the font/color can be changed under Theme part details/Explorer style Me/Button/Text. Not sure why it's in such a odd location. Thanks again!
I've looked and looked... but I can't find where to change the Explorer "Views" vertical slider menu font and background. Skinstudio has a vertical sliders section; but, it's only specific to the sliders; but not it's background or font.
