I too got random explorer crashes until i turned off "Replace file explorer and notepad tabs" option. I haven't had any crashes since then.

So I'm still having all of the same issues as before including creating new tabs via drag-drop not working. Groupy 2 is completely unusable for me. Is there a fix in the works? EDIT: It appears the problem with drag-drop was the settings were changed. I had to go back in and set it to use the shift button again. Not sure how that happened but drag-drop is working again aside from the xlucent drop target not being dismissed properly. EDIT 2: Also worth noting is
I see. I never realized that since I only use a single row anyway. Also since I somehow got placed on canary I haven't actually tried the new/old feature yet.
I'm curious to know what Start11 will do with (not) combine mode for taskbar buttons now that MSFT has graciously decided to add the feature back (not released yet). Will it simply be disabled (preferred) or will Users have to turn off the feature in S11 to use the built in version? I know it's still in the Dev builds but eventually it will come out (and in only 2 years too wow MSFT is fast).
Has anyone been able to confirm the group link creation issues I posted in replies 4 and 5 (also is there a way to link to replies?). I'm fairly confident it isn't my system as I've tested it on multiple machines one of which was just after a fresh format.
No the problem was I was using compiz style wobbly windows in WindowFX. Turning that off fixed shift+drag.
I also can't get it to add new windows via shift+drag most times. It shows the drop target window but after release it does nothing. I'm going to try a clean to see if that is the issue. EDIT: No a clean install did not fix it. It appears that a new blank link is created when adding a new window and resaving the group. The blank .lnk file will open the correct group where as the original test group will open before it was resaved. it also appears to crash explorer occasionally
Groupy still has the issue where the blue translucent window is not dismissed properly. Also grouping windows via Shift+drag does not work at all while using WindowFX. Turning on WindowFX restores that functionality. Also an extra .Lnk entry in the saved groups folder is created.
oh this looks great. Def. going to have to try this. Love the w10 style start11 look.
Hey guys sorry I've been away for a bit. Been dealing with some serious life issues. I have been lurking however and noticed Groupy is getting some love. I've played with both beta versions for a while now and have a few "bugs" and some features if anyone is interested. I'm also including a few videos of what I've seen thus far . Hope this helps. I'm still not able to work on things full time yet but I am getting there so I should be able to
Do you really get that many emails? I rarely get any. It would seem like I will get a few and then nothing for weeks sometime months. Anyway I agree that excessive email is annoying. Hope you get it worked out.
Sorry I've been gone for a bit y'all been dealing with some stuff IRL and had lot's of work. Here's a bug I noticed a couple builds back but still remains in 1.36. When highlighting a tile and then moving off the menu on the left side highlighting is not canceled. It works fine bouncing between tiles/groups and to the right edge. I suspect the small strip on the left with various icons is not reporting properly? Any how see the video below https://youtu.be/q
Working well so far. 2 things I would still like to see Swap mouse wheel action option Better alignment for hidden icon label items
Maybe when you apply a theme and it does not supply dark mode images, a popup should appear when applying the theme asking if you would like to darken some of the elements like it does currently. Selecting No would just apply like it has done so in past WB versions. This should help since there are tons of themes in the gallery that probably wont be getting updates and might alleviate the issue of them not having dark mode images.<br /
Has any more work been done on the issues I posted from the other thread?
Narusegawa Naru? Wow, I remember when a girlfriend and I watched Love Hina together years ago!
lol Me too. Loved that show.<
Not sure about the search box but the search icon does work. However I did notice that clicking on the search icon opens the search window at the far left even when in centered mode. A bug? EDIT Also the hover menu opens to the left from time to time (not just on the first hover)
I spoke to creator of StartAllBack. And he's afraid that Stardock is trying to steal his source code because their Start10 / 11 is shity crap.
Uhh who said that? I've have used StartAllBack and it in no way compares to StartX. It has much fewer customization options and uses a hack that simply reinstates the W10 taskbar which MSFT could remove at any minute totally breaking StartAllBack. I'm fairly certain th
Same thing happens on Windows 11 22H2 It causes an explorer crash EDIT It seems t occur on any search string of substantial length of 32 or more characters. EDIT 2 It would appear that when searching longer strings after a crash the search string text is drawn passed the carat. for example Here is a long strin|g The carat appears visually before the g but logically it is not i.e typing continues from the correct posi
Like I said Start11 uses the built in "Native" taskbar and does not have a replacement. That still does not mean it's impossible but probably not very likely.
Having a tray on each monitor has been something I've wanted for a while now. I don't think it's possible with Start11 because it uses the native taskbar in windows which doesn't have that ability. There are other 3rd party apps that do offer it by replacing the taskbar with their own version. I'm not sure what you mean by separate pinned shortcuts however. Can you elaborate on that?
This is just more continuation of MSFT's push to convert windows into a tablet OS. Once upon a time the OS was smart enough to detect what type of device it was on and Taylor the UI to that. This is also why you see less and less customization capabilities in windows. It basically removes the P from "PC". I've been a windows dev for several decades now. I'm pretty sure I won't be before long. I made my money and I'm pretty good in that area so I don't think I'll continue with it
So windows 11 only applies the current theme to tooltips on the primary monitor? Well that's crap. I'll post in the feedback app about it although with MSFT it won't get fixed until windows 14 if at all.
It looks like the Tooltip window does not use the current theme colors for secondary monitors. In the following ss the image on the left is from the primary monitor while the second in on a secondary monitor.
Confirmed #1 is indeed fixed. Also the peek preview for secondary monitors are now properly located as well. Very nice indeed. As of now the only thing I can really ask for is icon centering for icons with hidden labels. I would also ask for an option to reverse the mouse wheel direction for page scrolling. I know it fits the same paradigm as scrollbars properly however seems counter intuitive for page switching. If i/m on page one and I scroll the wheel away from me I would expect the page t
