Removing SD Central

I have had to rebuild my system recently and I believe that SDcentral has been corrupted during installation. Specifically, SDTray & IconX load under Smart Startup, but do not appear in the tray. After a few minutes, the configuration boxes of each pop up! Normally, I follow the general advice given by Stardock and uninstall the relevant program and try again, but "uninstall" just hangs. I would like to know what directories and/or files I might need to delete as I do not wish to start from scratch. Currently, I am at XP pro without service packs as I want to get the look just right before adding SP2.
I am off to Plymouth ( the original one ) in a couple of hours to visit dear Mum, so apologies if I do not reply to anyone kind enough to help until I return.

(The Wincustomize databases had to be reverted, so I am reposting/retyping my response)

Press Ctrl+Shift+Escape and make sure the SDMCP.exe process is not running. If it is, select it and click "End Process."

Navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock folder and delete the SDMCP.exe process from there.

Try uninstalling/reinstalling Stardock Central again, the SDMCP.exe process has been known to hang during uninstallation.

Thank you for that. I can now uninstall SDCentral, but upon reinstalling I seem to be left with a variation of my original problem, namely all icons in the tray do not load up, but if I logout and login again there they all are. Something is upsetting them, but I would welcome help on yhis matter.

I'm not following when you say the icons are not loading up.  Do you see a blank space where the icons should be? Which programs is this occuring with? Could you submit a screenshot to help illustrate your problem?
