Have you received on of these?

I received an email from "Screen Booty Support Team"? titled "Screen Booty needs your Boot screens please !".

They are asking permission to use my bootscreens from wincustomize. I am not familiar with their program, so am wondering if anyone else is. I wonder if they are using a hacked kernel or not? Are they a hacked version of BootSkins?

I am not going to reply to them until I find out more information.

A Google search found their homepage which can be seen here. http://www.screenbooty.com

I downloaded one of the bootscreens, and the format was .SBS, which was already registered to Spybot, probably a coincidence. The format is just a zip file renamed, and inside there was a bunch of other files which were unreadable, unless you had their program. So I don't know if it's a hack or a program similar to Stardock's. I don't feel like downloading the software to find out either...hehe.

Thanks Hus,

I would have to agree with you, I don't want to do it either, thus the post. I am hoping that someone else will know the full story about them. They do have material that wouldn't be approved on this site, so it has me wondering.

They are charging $18 for it

Got one...haven't looked into it yet....but best way is to request a 'free' access to the proggy....particularly if they want you to provide your skins, etc.

time-limited demo would do....so people have the chance to actually know whether it is a good proggy or not...
