The Return of the King

Just got back from it, the movie seems a good bit different from the previous two, but will still undoubtedly rock your socks off. I'll just leave it at that so as not to spoil anything for anyone

I saw it today also and if you liked the first two you will enjoy this one also. In reviews I had read about the "false" endings and it is true that it goes through too many of those. I felt it could have ended earlier and not ruined things. I know we don't really want the story to end, but that was going a bit too far.
Still a fantastic movie, best trilogy of all time to be sure.

I saw it today (Wednesday) too...... Absolutley Stunning!!! Some of the best film photography I have ever seen. A truly crafted movie, obviously a labour of love judging by the attention to detail.

That battle scene.....................WOW!!!!

I think the most breath-taking thing is seeing the white city, makes everything seem so tiny, even helms deep

It's all good.

I've got this rotten, rotten flu - Part III will just have to wait, although the suspense is killing me!

OK, I got to know before I go see it. I don't want to be disapointed.  Without saying too much and giving a major spoiler, I just want to know if there are any major deviations to the book?  From the previous two movies, I'm worried a bit.  Aragorn doesn't hook up with a different girl than in the book does he? (I don't say names on purpose, not to spoil it for those who didn't read the book)

No..he doesnt... Luckily.

From what I saw, it only had some very slight differences from the book...Nothing drastic like leaving out Tom Bombidil in the 1st one...

...Well, now that Ive given some more thought to it...There were a few parts with saruman that were omitted. But, in spite of that, it was a great movie...

Tom bombidil wasn't "not" in the story, they just didn't show those parts the differences in this one are some of the endings for the characters aren't all the same

I haven't seen it yet, but from what I have heard it follows very closely to the book. Since I have read the book I doubt anybody will spoil the movie for me. However not everyone has read the book. I suggest to all of you that haven't to read it either before or after you see the movie. If its like the first two, they greatly complement each other.

and yes I am back on topic

here's a bit of info but not really any spoiler, they don't really show what happens to sauroman, it was cut out of the movie, but is getting put back in when they release the extended version

Shame the Extended Version is really a year away :o
It will be worth the wait.

There's no scouring of the shire and Saruman is not in it at all. I would say those are pretty significant deviations.

The scouring of the shire would have been too much for a  movie which I can understand. Not having Saruman in it at all was troubling though.

Brad, would you be so kind to delete your post? Don't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.
