Object Dock will not install

Certificate expired

When attempting to install Object Dock, I get the following error:

Apparently, Windows is blocking irsetup.exe.

Since I am an admin on my computer, this makes no sense. I examined the properties of irsetup.exe.

I looked at the Digital Signatures tab and checked its details.

Then I viewed its certificate.

I see that its code-signing certificate has expired. Is that the reason that I can't install Object Dock?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

While ObjectDock is not been made Win10 compatible, you may want to ensure that Windows Controlled Folder Access is off:

I was able to install Object Dock. I had to use the admin account that's built into the computer, the OS. I had to enable the admin account. It doesn't show up unless you enable it.

Have you tried doing with the admin account? It worked for me.

Thanks, Gaspershooters. I asked this question straight to Stardock's support and was told to post it on the support forums. They could have said that Windows 10 was not supported, but chose not to. I did look at the page for Object Dock, and somehow, I missed the tiny System Requirements at the bottom of the page. So I asked in this forum, as directed by support, thinking it might have been the certificate. Do you think I wanted to waste my time taking screen shots and doing everything I could think of to get this installed? Then, to top it off, having Startdock support tell me to post here, knowing some troll was probably going to find something wrong with my efforts to get this to work? This is why people don't post to forums asking for help.

Thank you for your tip, but that setting is set to OFF for my computer.

Thanks, Chasbo. I followed your tip and enabled the local admin account, then attempted to install OD by right-clicking on the install file and selecting "Run as Administrator" but that produced the same result.

Now that I know it this product is not supported in Windows 10, I will stop bothering the forum and give up installing it.

Trolling of client requests for help is not tolerated, and from what is evident here, you received help from us and experienced users.

I do hope this is evidence of why the forums are the best placed to help our clients - the many help the few and for all time, not just one and for only that moment as ticket are limited by.

As for your issues, and still with the understanding that OBD is not supported on Win10, it might also be fruitful to create a new Win10 admin (<-- important) and try installing under it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026923/windows-10-create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account

Also, and just to test, disable any AV app you may have running.

While I have high hopes for the new Windows admin account potential fix, this is a rather complete breakdown of things to try for that error:

I'm still a bit stumped why support is telling people to post in the forums when OD clearly is supported on Win10.

Also, that little bitty tiny disclaimer of system requirements at the bottom needs to be at the top of the page, bold and highlighted so that people are well informed at the start of the examination process.

While some have gotten it to work somewhat consistently, any issues people find with it on Windows 10 'is not supported' by Stardock.  There is also the fact that the (rather popular) weather docklet no longer works for anyone (they changed the API).

This is pretty clear / large and right next to the button to obtain the software:

It is in the same location for all our products.

just suggestions Sean.

Logic dictates that if the requirements were at the top then less people would have problems.

I don't have to deal with those problems so it is no skin of my nose.|-)

When you click "Get it Now" it takes you to this page where it has it again.
