F1 Grand Prix 2015

It's Saturday, 14th of March....day 3 of the opening round of the GP season.

All's going well.... cars are a bit louder than last year...and about 2 seconds faster.  Numbers are almost impossible to read [as always]....and some have the wrong camera colour from that listed...[all done to make a JAFO's life harder].

About to head off to the track for the 3rd practice and qualifying before Sunday's race.

If anyone's wondering where I am....it's driver's right at turn 2 in the chicane.  So far all the grief happens at one...and we get to watch...;)

Poor, Monisha.

Hmm, must see if I can see that fella on turn 2 during Practise 3…

JAFO 'hard at work'....behind me is the 'straight' heading up to turn 3 ...;)

Sunday morning now....race-day .... time goes quickly [though my feet don't agree]...

Grid positions are the usual suspects....not much new there....though Ferrari are 'happy' with how things are going [as heard direct from my insider].

Party after race... shall likely be a little legless....and then waiting for 2016...which will be my 37th consecutive Australian GrandPrix ...;)

The camera is up too high to see and to the right. I could just see 5/6/7 orange overalls grouped to the left behind the fence to the left but there is no camera on the other side of the track.

How far from the track do you live, Jafo?

Heh, Lewis has really embarrassed McLaren. 1:26 causing McLaren to be 5 - 6 seconds off the pace. Plus Marussia, now Manor… what a joke. Turn up with cars that aren't ready for track time. McLaren is now in HRT/Marussia/Caterham territory. Can see McLaren getting lapped a few times…

Fixed the link...

Monday....race is run and won....boring as batshit after the first 2 corners of lap 1.

We ended up with 13 into the wall [Lotus] and we parked it behind our tent with a tarp...[so pesky photographers can't photograph it while it's 'bent'.]

15 starters.....

13 after lap 1....

11 finished.

....and yet that's not the least...in Adelaide years ago there were 26 starters...and 6 finished....;)

Looking a bit grey there, old mate... but at least you're not into the shoe polish to hide it.   I have a few grey hairs around and above my ears, but mostly I'm still my natural [brown] colour.

Anyway......

Yeah, dunno how ya do it... standing there hour after hour.  For me it'd be like watching Oz TV.... repeat after repeat, with the same cars going past again and again... and again.  Personally, I'd want the monotony broken with a classis Rolls or Bentley here and there... maybe an old jag or three.

:-"

Nah, motor racing [of the 4 wheeled type] has never been my thing... nor horse/greyhound racing, either.  Could never see the point of seeing who was fastest 'round a circle, to be honest.

Now cricket, there's a sport, a real sport worth mentioning.

Did Jafo get to meet, Schwarzenegger?
End of voo's quote

No, but would have liked to....

Apparently his 'appearance fee' was - free tickets, water and hamburgers ....[not some pretentious prima-donna bs you often hear about]...;)
