Trouble with two latest WB 7 updates

Trouble with two latest WB 7 updates

Black parts appeared

Both version WB 7.09a beta 116 and WB 7.09a beta 117 are corrupting IE toolbar with black parts:

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 7.1 (build 87 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

(Philips 190C (19inch LCD MONITOR 190C7)) 1 is attached to NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

Wblind.dll      2010/04/22 11:20:20
Wbsrv.dll      2010/02/03 16:11:56
SevenConfig.exe      2010/02/15 14:09:57
Wbload.exe      2010/02/02 14:33:18
Wbhelp.dll      2009/02/10 17:28:07
Wbui.dll      2009/02/10 17:28:05
Tray.dll           2009/10/21 16:13:19
Screen.exe      2009/12/03 13:43:26

But trouble is exactly similar on others PC's (with different graphic cards - in all cases with latest drivers avaible) with XP SP3 (french) + IE7

N.B.1: checking (or unchecking) "Enable if you have corrupted titlebar buttons & text backgrounds" in "XP specific" settings has no influence at all

N.B.2: this trouble doesn't exist with WB 7.09 beta 112 or 113

N.B.3: the black parts are going away when mouse goes on it and / or if window is resized

Should be great to fix it because it's a little uggly :S

Yes.

Sorry, but not on my machine.

If the UI crashed how did you apply it?

I am running 32-bit XP, using IE8 and latest WB release (today's) with no issues at all with Venom applied, or Svelte, or any other skin.

odd, every time i update WB the SN is lost and i'll have to re activate it...
End of SpeciaLKey's quote

This is odd.  Activation should stick, unless something is changing/removing the sig7.bin.

The config wasn't the problem, Neil. What it did to the taskbar was. Initially both ends (of Svelte) were rounded and shoter than the ends of the screen (Svelte should occupy the entire length of the screen). I switched to Aero, and then back to Svelte and 'only' the right end remained rounded and appeared to be superimposed on the square end of taskbar image.

Rolled back to 7.01.

The only known issue with the Svelte skin was the crashing which the build addressed.

From your description it sounds like the skin failed to load correctly initially and it resulted in corruption of the WB4 files.  Deleting those should have resolved the problem.  Switching back to 7.01 would have made those files rebuilt and so fix the issue.

Please update to the WB 7.09c build that went up today and see if this helps or not.

1°) Well, for me things are different that for RedneckDude and are giving a nice improvment (not complete as you'll see )

IE 7 toolbars lines are no more blacked but "only" the part which is called (i think) rebargripper

Significant example to see the trouble, is with LK WB (by Duopixart): (but other skins are doing the same)

(same as in post #1, click on the image, then click on "voir la taille réelle to see the real sized image)

BUT, as the previous "black" trouble was systematic, now the blacked rebargripper are appearing or not when launching IE 7 and N.B.1, N.B.2 & N.B.3 mentionned in post #1 are still relevant .

2°) That was the news for the "black" trouble, BUT i found out another trouble now with StartMenu (which was already existing with both WB 7.09a betas but not with WB 7.09) and relative to the UserIcon image for skins allowing one

Here are two examples of what's going on (first still with LK WB, 2nd with Buuf OS WB:

 &

As far as i could check (but i can be wrong) it seems to me this trouble comes when a UserIcon background image is not defined and / or the margins not correctly set in the skin (but with same skins, UserIcon is correctly displayed with WB 7.09 )

N.B: using or not Blur on Startmenu doesn't change anything

Hope you'll get enough elements to correct those troubles

Any correcting's update soon ? :-"

The issue should be resolved in the next beta update.  If it is not out this week then it will probably show up next week.

This trouble keeps existing exactly the same way and is not corrected with WB v7.09f beta (annoying because i keep using these particular skins and some others in same case ...) :(

That specific issue with some skins on XP has been reproduced and should be fixed in the next update.
