Trouble with two latest WB 7 updates

Black parts appeared

Both version WB 7.09a beta 116 and WB 7.09a beta 117 are corrupting IE toolbar with black parts:

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 7.1 (build 87 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

(Philips 190C (19inch LCD MONITOR 190C7)) 1 is attached to NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

Wblind.dll      2010/04/22 11:20:20

Tray.dll           2009/10/21 16:13:19
Screen.exe      2009/12/03 13:43:26

But trouble is exactly similar on others PC's (with different graphic cards - in all cases with latest drivers avaible) with XP SP3 (french) + IE7

N.B.1: checking (or unchecking) "Enable if you have corrupted titlebar buttons & text backgrounds" in "XP specific" settings has no influence at all

N.B.2: this trouble doesn't exist with WB 7.09 beta 112 or 113

N.B.3: the black parts are going away when mouse goes on it and / or if window is resized

Should be great to fix it because it's a little uggly :S

I didn't have this problem until I installed today's update.

RedneckDude: Your issue is unrelated to this thread.

The issue with black was specific to Windows XP only.

I suspect the problem you are having is a skin related issue.  Please try another skin.

Not only did I not have this problem until I installed the latest update, I can fix it by maximizing and restoring the window. But it shouldn't be happening to begin with.

RND if your talking about the toolbar 'missing', which I think you are not sure why it would be, its a flat plain , normal toolbar, same sized image I always use, are you getting that in other skins? Then again with the state 1E8 is in, not only do i not attempt to check it, I wont even open it. If your a WB user, better stick to FF or alternative browser atm. IE7 is fully skinned though.

Neil, I emailed you Venom a day or two ago, perhaps you can take a look.

IE7 is fully skinned though.

Can I use IE7 on Win 7? And I haven't seen it again, or on any other WB. I never saw it at all until I installed todays WB update.

1°) Well, for me things are different that for RedneckDude and are giving a nice improvment (not complete as you'll see :-" )

IE 7 toolbars lines are no more blacked but "only" the part which is called (i think) rebargripper

Significant example to see the trouble, is with LK WB (by Duopixart): (but other skins are doing the same)

(same as in post #1, click on the image, then click on "voir la taille rĂ©elle to see the real sized image)

BUT, as the previous "black" trouble was systematic, now the blacked rebargripper are appearing or not when launching IE 7 o_O and N.B.1, N.B.2 & N.B.3 mentionned in post #1 are still relevant .

2°) That was the news for the "black" trouble, BUT i found out another trouble now with StartMenu (which was already existing with both WB 7.09a betas but not with WB 7.09) and relative to the UserIcon image for skins allowing one

Here are two examples of what's going on (first still with LK WB, 2nd with Buuf OS WB:

 &

As far as i could check (but i can be wrong) it seems to me this trouble comes when a UserIcon background image is not defined and / or the margins not correctly set in the skin (but with same skins, UserIcon is correctly displayed with WB 7.09 :D )

N.B: using or not Blur on Startmenu doesn't change anything

Hope you'll get enough elements to correct those troubles

Revert to 7.1 build 247. No problems....except that v makes stunning skins and hasn't enough hands to do it as fast as we'd all like.

Do i understand correctly ? I better stay with IE7 under XP than updating to IE8 (i mean skinning concerned ...) ?

I have never ran IE8 on XP, not ran 7 for that matter either, I still use IE6 on XP. I use IE7 on vista, again, so I can skin it..

..and on Win 7 ...IE8 and as far as I'm concerned, it can just KMA.

Maybe someone else can answer but I'd be shocked if it skinned on XP any better than other OS's. It may be 'usable' on light themes, dark ones, forget it.

Haven't updated it, Neil. I decided not to go with the alphas after the prior update...too much angst. I'm just getting old.

* edit. OK, installed it. It initially screwed up the Svelte taskbar. Gave it a 'Krome' type taskbar. Switched it to Aero and back, but it left the right end of the Svelte taskbar rounded (sort of).
