Just bought a new 24

but I didn't need to

Went to bed Monday night, it was raining hard. Got up Tuesday morn and my computer was in the restart mode waiting for me to click my OK. I got it going again but my 22" monitor was not working. I bought the 22" Envision 18 months ago to go with my 19" Dell, the Envision being the primary. Everything that was on the 22 was now on the 19 and everything that was on the 19 went exit stage right. It was shot! The little light wouldn't even come on. Off to Staples I went. Now I couldn't just replace the thing, if I'm going to buy a new monitor I must upgrade. So I stared at the top of line(at this store anyway), the Dell 24 was sold out. I hit on the second one, an acer 24.

After I got everything going again, my Brother and I were sitting around the table wacthing That 70's Show. He said I should plug it in and see if it was still broke, I did. I'll be a SOB if that little light didn't come on! Well, it goes without saying, I am now running a 24 and a 22. I've got lots of room now. I'll save the 19 till I buy my new Dell computer with Dell Docks. I plan on having four monitors.

I don't know what the heck went on.

my spell checker ain't working :NOTSURE:

yeah, i'm really liking my 24 inch LG. one of these days, i'll find another of the same model on ebay for a reasonable price and i'll buy it. i could get a soyo because it has the same panel as the LG but i want them to match.

I could get another one of my Samsung's for like $400...but no money and would be a tight fit on my desk. Would rather have a 30" instead.

Bah humbug!! Wouldn't ya just know it...paid AU$300.00 for a 22" a few weeks back, and Pat at my local PC store told me about 5 mins ago that I could have got a 24" for an extra $75 if had waited a while... like 'til yesterday.

Grrrr!!! How I hate that man!!! Nah, not really... but me is trying to come up with some bloody good excuses to take this 'slightly used' 22" back for a refund... and come up with the extra $75.

Oh, and D n' B, congrats on the new monitor. :CONGRAT: I have 2 Viewsonics, a 22" and a 19" connected to my main rig... and a 19" BENQ hooked up to my second unit on a desk set up beside me...

... now if only I could get this computer chair to roll on carpet.

a 30 inch screen would be nice but they're all TN panels as far as i know. well, at least the ones that are half-way affordable!. i don't want a TN panel. the blacks are crushed too badly on those for my liking. that doesn't happen on my LG screen.

i wouldn't mind that chair shown above, tho.

All sounds suspiciously like a ruse to get the purchase of a new monitor past the missus...;)

Nah! Don't need a ruse... I'd just get one, hook it up to my rig and say: "Oh look at that, my monitor has grown all of a sudden... must've been all the 'fertilizer' I've been posting on the forums." ;p

However, if Santa isn't so benevolent this year, I might have to come up with a plausible ruse to get me one of those fangled chairs, or... "Oh look, I sent my computer chair to the dry-cleaner's to spruce up the upholstery... and it came back looking like this!!!" ;p

All joking aside, tho, if the money's there my missus is pretty easy going about the things I want to get... and visa versa if/when she wants something. :)
