Microsoft has silently release Windows Script 5.7. There isn't much info to find about it, except lots of people wondering what the changes are.

Fortunately Don Raman from the JScript development team made a little post on their blog. Turns out it mostly bugfixes, but especially in regards to AJAX applications. It's recommended that you update to this latest version if you've experience performance issues with AJAX applications (e.g. Gmail).

Windows Script is also the script engine running DesktopX. (I'm not sure if this update affects DX in any way. At least I've not encountered any problems.)

Windows Script 5.7 is pre-installed on Vista so only users with older versions of Windows need to upgrade.
