Is Diplomatic contact limited in DA at all??

I've read hints that there is some sort of limit on contacting people diplomatically now... is this true? I cna't find it in the manual and don't seem to have encountered it in the game (DA) yet... has this been added to the game?

Also, it would be good if a diplomacy limit was placed on players at war with each other that until PEACE is negotiated NO OTHER diplomatic actions can take place. Referemnce:

I'll double check but I'm not sure this was done in DA.

You can only conduct a trade of any sort with each other race every eight turns (four if you're a super diplomat). If you open the trade screen but don't actually perform a trade, it doesn't count against you. Each race is limited independently.

Yehaaa! Niiiiice!

One little change to this would be grand: Have their portraits gray out or dim or add a little red icon by them to indicate NO CONTACT is possible when we are in the relations screen. It would make the UI a little more streamlined.

Nice addition to the game though!

I too really like this change, though Dearmad's right that it'd be nice if there were a visual indicator on the foreign relations screen to indicate when you can't contact them. DA, the more I play it and read about it, is just an extremely impressive piece of work. Virtually every niggling problem or exploitable element of DL's been corrected and a ton of fun new stuff's been added, all the while the AI's gotten even better despite having more to manage. Well done Stardock, very well done.
