Is Elemental ready to buy in the UK? I want to buy it when I get home from work and play it on digital download tonight. I thought I would ask first after messing up with the pre-orders. Thanks.

Hi all, I'm a huge fan of Stardock and have loved Sins, GalCiv and now am enjoying Demigod. Now I've got that out of the way, I am having a bit of a problem with Demigod. You see, I can accept that the launch and netcode has been botched a bit, I expect it will get fixed and have total faith in one of the few shining lights of

Amazing. What a list of free stuff for loyal customers. Why on earth are some people complaining about the delivery method? Although saying that, I am stuck at 0.9% download for a while now. Still, cant wait to play Sins again.

Wow, two employees to tell an idiot how wrong he is. Get back to work you lot! And yes the research bug/feature can be annoying. Then again, it's just another part of a game that constantly makes you re-evaluate your strategy. I didn't actually expect a patch lol I've now purchased four games from SD (Gal Civ 2 + 2 expansions and Sins) and throughout I've been impressed with the level of service and support. Quite often I read other forums where things like customer service or

It doesn't sound like the OP has much of a general strategy. What I mean is, "tech to boost economy" or "those two capital ships that work well together out of the gate asap to establish a front line" or even "tech to carrier". What I would suggest is trying a few different strat's and see how they work out. I've now started making lists of things I've tried and different combos to think about how they have worked. Trying and failing is all part of that. Like

Come on guys the hard AI isn't that good! They still save a huge amount of resources for a rainy day and do not reinforce their planets properly. It's inexcusable to have 100,000+ credits and planets not reinforced. On top of that, the AI does not really know how to fight. The big game winners in Sins is capital ship abilities. Use them right and you will win almost any battle - the AI doesn't seem to know how to do this though and so will always be a distant second best to even a half

Yeah the AI is improved again, woot. Trouble is now I cant finish games because of mini dumps. **** It actually forced me to think and unfortunately I found an incredible fleet killing manouver the Advent can do. Now anything short of heavy cruisers dye in less than 30 seconds, no AI is going to beat that lol.

I really like 1.04, feels a lot better than 1.03 did. I do see what some people are saying about the Advent early game. TEC can quickly get up to LRM and trade ports while the Advent cant. Although they are supposed to be more culture based, I'm not sure that shield mitigation and shield tanking offsets this. Then again, combining some of the awsome Advent abilities if you can get two or more cap ships out quick enough can turn just about any rush. It does appear to depend on t

Thanks for the tip. I guess my experiment I am now conducting is pointless as it must be that bug (that is already known) which caused the issue. Oh and I just found something cool while doing this (completely off topic), but when the game is minimised it keeps running everything. So I might leave that experiment running after all. Additionally, are there any good websites set up yet to give some more complete tutorials/ideas on modding? Might save me clogging up the forum with

Okay, so the story thus far. After reading about moding the game I put a multiplied of 10 on supply and each capital ship research level gave you another 5 capital ships. Nice! I then setup a team game with myself, a researcher AI and 2 teams of random hard AI consisting of 4 each. Then we all got together on a fraking huge 200 planet 1 star system with every planet having a 100% chance of having natives setting up camp. This was to give the AI and myself as much flexibility as po

What about pre-buying a set of micro expansions? The monthly subscription wont work unless there is an actual online persistant universe type element to the game. People will expect a lot for $9 every month. Nothing stopping you guys going down that road, I for one would love to login to a real online universe and fight battles in real time to help my chosen empire. But for Sins I think the best way may be, "give me $20 or $30 and you get this, this and this over x amount of t

After reading the thread I played a few games as TEC to see what I thought. Dear God their capital ships are strong. And as others have said the Kol makes BSG look wimpy in terms of survivability. The only ability I am not so sure about is the Mazara level 6 uber missile ability. Maybe I should go check out the game data on what it actually does because I'm not so sure.

[quote]We have new strats, it's that we don't want to use them, want some replays of how broken TEC are? The devs seem to ignore that offer - but maybe the community will appreciate it and understand how truely imbalanced it is. And I'm glad YOU can understand that there's a problem, but really I have to stress enough, we are using the new strategies, I've got several maps down to every single strategic layer, and most of the tactical, already planned out using this new TEC overpoweredness as it

After playing Sins for a solid few days on patch 1.03, I feel finally able to judge some of the implications of the patch. The unit balance kicks big butts! Well I'm not American or even African American so that probably is the wrong phrase lol. Suffice to say, the there are no real cheese units that I can find and everything seems to have a counter (unit wise). That isn't to say some units still aren't great (or better) but everything seems to have its place. I even use the siege frig

Just found an annoying bug. Loaded a game I had saved this morning. Teams were locked and the only different option I set was large fleet sizes. After loading, I am now getting loads of requests for missions and my fleet capacity is now -56!!!! So obviously the modifiers for fleet capacity are not working after load nor are the other options remembered. This seems like a fairly problematic bug. Anyone else have this? Any advice?

Just had my first full game with 1.03 :CONGRAT: I must admit, the computer on hard does provide more of a challange, even considering my efficient way of playing against the computer. What I noticed: (1) The game ran smoother (2) The game looked nicer (neither of these two were mentioned I thought) (3) The balance of the units appears to be better (4) The CPU is more challanging and less "stupid" although still not perfect. Considering I only played a 4

Wow, so much antagonism. I must admit I never liked the black market anyway and am about to try patch 1.03 tonight, maybe it will be worse for non-TEC like has been said. I do worry about the TEC being over powered but it is probably too early to tell, even for self proclaimed experts.

I don't know, using the KOL's level 6 ability with the GC really can be quite incredible. I do agree flak seems to be under powered, or maybe I am doing something wrong with it?

Being competitive is trying to win. You don't load up a game of sins and see how many hours you can hold a front line without going on the offensive. I wouldn't consider myself to be an elite player by any stretch of the imagination. However, I do believe that I am very competitive and love to demolish another player - preferably in style if possible. This in no way reflects what the OP said. I'm afraid the issue that the OP came across was an invasion of the n00bs, not to be
