It wont play

I tried GC2 for the first time... or I tried to. It blocked twice at the loading of whattever follows the screen where you pick your opponents.
First time: it just closed the program.
Second time: Froze everything (except mouse cursor... which could do absolutely nothing). Need to reset, alt-tab or ctrl-alt-del useless)

It's my parent's computer and they don't even know what a driver save a guy in a car. Still, I built this machine so it's no onboard buggy crap:
WinXP + DirectX 9
Athlon 700
256 SDRAM
TNT2 Ultra (32VRAM, or is it 16?), Guillemot's Xentor

Make sure you'e updated to the most recient DirectX (I think they're at 9c ATM).  Also, if your card IS actually 16 megs vram I could see it dying pretty quickly.

Yep the TNT2 Does not like DX9. Consider upgrading seriously, A few weeks ago I upgraded from the crap TNT2 32MB to a raedon 128 MB card for a mere $75 (+GST)

Not a bad deal, And you can run almost anything now.

TNT2 Ultra is below the minimum game requiarements.   I think Geforce 2 or better is the minimum video requirement which is at least 2 years newer.  TNT 2 Ultra is a circa 1999 video card.

:surprised:
Ok... Anti-Drengin Plan B: new laptop: Centrino, 64VRAM

But what's this thing about the TNT2 vs DX9 relation? Is DX9 the product of a conspiration to destroy TNT2s and bring nVidia some income?

Not really, it's just the march of technology that forces gaming upgrades.
