About rejecting uploads

I've tried (several times) to upload a bootskin to complete Antares stuff. For a reason i'd like to understand, each time i receive a mail back as [copy ON] Dear neophil78, Thank you for your recent upload of your "Neo Antares BootSkin" BootSkin to the BootScreens library. Unfortunately your upload has not met our guidelines and has been rejected. However we do look forward to your future submissions. Sincerely, WinCustomize.com This is an automated email. Please do not respond to this email as it will not be received by any person. [copy OFF] I get permission, their is no nude wife on it, though what's the reason for it to be "rejected" ? Of course, it's impossible to ask anyone directly, that's the reason i post it here ... here's a shot of the bootskin

Sure you added permission, but the permision you got from Treetog said that you need to ask permission from the original wallpaper author as well because he did not make that wall. So, you need to do that.

You're right Wizopp paxx, but i send mails to the one who did the wall, without any answer i droped another mail to all (about 15 mails adresses or much more) who are mentionned on the website ... still without any answer ... though, perhaps my antispam is blocking answers, but without answer after several days i consider i get the permission (and BTW, some others have used tee Antares walls without asking permission from nonone and the bootskins are on here ...

Does it is more clear now ?

I would not believe that "no answe" is the same as "permission".

Just my humble opinion.

OOOoops sorry i thought "Wizopp" was part of your pseudo, but it's not ...
As for me, i used to be an "apprentice" before the new Wincustomize website. But now i don't really know what is my status ... I send mails to support@stardock, to Patrick Ford (T-Man) who's in charge of subscriptions and so on, i got answers, but things are still not resolved ...

and BTW, some others have used the Antares walls without asking permission from no one and the bootskins are on here ...https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=3054&LibID=32 https://www.wincustomize.com/ViewSkin.aspx?SID=1&SkinID=3053&LibID=32

Though i agree with you, but what to do ?

... and, why differents ways of treatments ? As far as i'm concerned, i asked at least permission to PiXtudio (those guys are so kind they give me a permanent permission for upoading anything i'll want with their pixels, without having to ask each time permission ...)

If you want, try to send a mail to the guys from http://www.trekships.org/antares.htm, perhaps, your antispam or whatelse will be better than mine ...

There is no different way of treating anything. If you do not have permission from the original author you cannot upload, simple as that. If the original author fails to respond to your e-mail that is their perogative. No response = no permission.

Your status is in your details - just click on your nick to see it. You are still an apprentice.

neophil78 ....I sent you 2 emails...after rejecting each upload of that bootskin.  I am aware of the artwork as I am [still] working with the Antares Litestep theme.

Neither upload had permission from the wall artist. Both had mention [by treetog] that you NEEDED permission from the wall artist.

When you have that permission, and include it with the upload the Bootskin will be accepted.

Not before.

Both emails were specific and gave reason for the rejection.

Yep there is differenet ways !!! the guy which did the wo bootskins did'nt get any permission from anyone !!!

I wasn't aware they were Star Trek 'Antares' wall images.

Listen...in the 'real world' sometimes you just don't 'get' permission.  I have a few Winamp skins and WB skins I cannot upload.....not for over 2 years now...

Deal with it...

wrong !!!
Do i have to do another copy of them ? no? yes ? so yes

Simple.

That email rejection was for the fully exposed wall image in a SCREENSHOT.

Read the bit that says....

"Antares BootSkin for ScreenShots."

then the bit....

"Until you receive permission from the artist you have to partly obscure the wall image, just like any other screenshot."

Here is the FIRST email rejecting the BOOTSKIN....

Dear neophil78,

Thank you for your recent upload of your Neo Antares BootSkin for BootSkins.
Unfortunately your upload has not met our guidelines and has been rejected.
You have included Renato's permission, but not that from the original wall artist....you'll need to provide that, too.
However we do look forward to your future submissions.

Sincerely,
The WinCustomize Staff

As the post above mentionned, where can i see this ? because i just can't ...
That's exactly what i told : where can you see a motivated explanation off the reason to the reject ???

Second email...same reason...no permission from wall artist.

You have included Renato's permission, but not that from the original wall artist....you'll need to provide that, too.

I think in total there will have been 4 emails, 3 of which were personally written [by me].

These are the two pertaining to the Bootskin upload itself.

I think i've already said it somewhere but, i'm in fact a Stardock cutomer since 1999 (i think ?)
During all that time (and i'm a bit sad of it now, because i like to get nice desktops), i've spend hours and hours, probaly entire monthes, to try to help Stardock in improving their softs (that's not for the -50 $ or so to pay each year, but for a question of principle (don't tell me about beta versions or something like that, even the enhanced versions - at least on SDC - are always betas ... apart for a little number off them ...).

Though, as time is money, in fact i'am asking me how much Stardock sould have to pay me back (and all other customers, to give them feed back, and to be able to improve their softs, and though to be able to sell them ...

On about 3 other threads.

As Karmagirl said, 'enough'.

A i said also, enough for me too ...

For a long time i tried also to make some kind of pub for Stardock and Stardock products. I think i'm gonna make another kind of pub now ... Though yo may laugh and think, "I don't care of it, it's just a customer between hundreds (millions ?) of others ..."
Don't worry man, what had made success for Stardock, can change quickly in a cruel backfiring ... and it could be much faster that you can imagine !!!
