Editing comments

from WinCustomize Forums
I can edit comments I post on forums, when try to edit comment on skins ( I incorrectly called rainlender.ini theme.ini on a comment ) I am told
that I am not authorized to perform this action. I am 99.9% sure that I have been able to edit comments on skins in the past. My access level is 1
my user level is 4.

Just tested this forum post, clicked edit, would let me edit if needed. On one skin comment, half of the comment lost,
when click edit, edit page came up but comment was full of code that I could not get rid of. The added code messed up
the page.

It looks site is still having some problems. But this is not what I've seen from all this errors and error pages and error messages and error something... Where has that code come from (normally only a few html tags are added when you submit the comment - text is converted into html form)?

I will have someone look into this but it could also be that we implemented a system that once some replies after your comment then you can no longer edit your comment.  This was done to prevent people from bashing another user and then editing their comment after the other users replied.

I'm not sure what error message is being given but that may be the reason. If thats the case then we need to update our error message.

Thanks T-Man, someone had already relpied when I went to edit my post, I will have to be quicker to catch my mistakes
in the future. This is a good implementation, nobody will be able to hide behind the edit button anymore.

I was just checking messages, in forums is, This comment is no longer available for editing. Sorry for the inconvenience. In skins library is, You are not authorized to perform this action.

We will now have to make sure that spelling is perfect before hit submit as will not be able to go back and correct
it after you notice and hand out a bad grade

Going through our bug list today to try and fix stuff and clean it up. From my end it looks like this issue is resolved. Anyone care to comment?

Getting a not authorized message is a bit strange. These are messages when try to edit if another post after yours, so when edit becomes locked out.


It could be font code or quote code or smiley code


It was lines and lines and lines of code.
