Battle Outcome Predictor Under 1.71.495696

As shown in the first screen snapshot below (on the left), I have a fleet that is about to attack an enemy fleet.  It shows that my fleet has 12 ships plus 4 fighters from a carrier.  It also shows that the fleet has a combat rating of 44 and 886 total hit points.  The second screen snapshot (on the right) shows that the enemy fleet also has 12 ships, but no additional fighters from a carrier.  It has a combat rating of 28 and 169 total hit points.

When you compare the details of each fleet's Combat Rating (the next 2 screen snapshots) it is clear that my fleet is vastly superior to the Torian's fleet.  However, as shown in the fifth screen snapshot, the prediction for the outcome of the battle is that I will receive "Moderate Casualties".

When the battle actually took place, the Battle Report (last screen snapshot) shows that all I lost were the 4 fighters from the carrier, which will regenerate after a few turns, while the Torian fleet was completely destroyed.

I recommend that the battle predictor be enhanced to give the player a better idea of the range of probable outcomes including:

  • ships likely to be lost (both fleets)
  • hit point reductions likely to be received (both fleets)

This enhancement should not be a higher priority than bug fixes, but it is something that should go in the stack as something that should and could be improved.

Here is another one - the Battle Prediction is that my fleet will receive "Extreme Casualties" but, as the Battle Report shows, I only lost 4 carrier fighters.

The battle viewer is going under regular review to address issues like these, ill share them up the line, but can you add more here if you see them in subsequent updates like the current Insiders Build?

I am playing a game under 1.72496532 and encountered the following issue with the Battle Predictor.  The Battle Prediction is completely empty as shown in the first screen snapshot below.  When I attack the Confirm Battle screen says that I will sustain "Moderate Casualties" and the Onyx Hive will suffer a "Total Loss" as shown in the second screen snapshot below.  After I confirmed that I wanted to attack the report for the battle appears in the third screen snapshot below.

Here is another annoying issue with not only the battle predictor, but attacking stacks of enemy fleets:

As the first screen snapshot below shows, I am attacking a stack of enemy fleets.  At the top (visible) of the stack is an Alterian fleet, however, the battle predictor not only doesn't give a prediction, but it shows that I am attacking a Drengin fleet that is somewhere in the stack.  The second screen snapshot shows the 5 fleets in the stack.

The issues here are:

  1. As I have mentioned many times before, how are fleets from different civilizations able to occupy one cell?
  2. As a player, I should either be able to attack the fleet at the top (visible) of the stack or I should be able to choose which fleet in the stack that I want to attack.  Missile and beam attacks that I fire at the stack always hit the fleet at the top of the stack, so why is it not the same when I attack with my ships?
