Cost of New Leaders Under 1.66.472885.1

I would love to understand how the game sets the cost (in control) for recruiting new leaders.

The screen snapshot below shows two leaders that I can recruit.  Why does the one on the right cost 701 control while the one on the left only costs 218 control?  The leader on the left is better and only costs 30% of the one on the right!

It is RNG, but also, some recruits come with a "more expensive" trait that makes the cost astronomical.  They also have a "less expensive" trait.  I forget what the real names are, but if you mouse over the star, chances are it says something about the recruit being more expensive.

3 things:

  1. What does "RNG" mean?
  2. The increased recruit cost looks like a stack of coins as shown in the first screen snapshot below and the leader shown is still almost 200 control cheaper than the leader I was talking about in my first post above
  3. The star icon is for a tourism penalty as shown in the second screen snapshot below

RNG Random number generator all random numbers in GC are chosen by the games generator for the cost more or cost less leaders its either a set +/- or a range +/-.

Surprised it been this long for you to comment on this as it has been a feature since day one 2 years ago with the original beta release.

gypsy2299,

I believe I previously posted about the increased and decreased recruit cost where the cost of a leader with the increased recruit cost was less than the cost of a leader with lower trait values and no cost modifier.

I understand the logic of choosing to use a random number generator for the cost of a leader, but I would think that a cost model that is based on the trait values and the "extra" features would be more understandable and acceptable to players.

I have no problem accepting random costs between 200 and 500, but when the cost goes over 700, unless the leader has some valueable trait or feature, the leader is essentially unrecruitable.

The only time I have seen cost of 700+ the leader has had the finish research perk.

Am not arguing that the cost maybe too high just how they were generated.

For me they should all be 15+ on the ability line 100% approval not lose approval when hired and cost -250 BC

On the other hand the AIs should all be negative in ability 0% approval and 10,000+ BC

But I just explore and expand, wish games would work without even having AI but if wishes were wings Frogboy wouldn't bump his fourth point of contact when he jumped.O:)
