DX 1.94.007 on WIn 98

I'm getting the following error which I remember having before when using the latest DX on Win98:
The ICONX.DLL file is linked to missing export SHELL32.DLL:SHGetFolderLocation.

Anyone have a solution? (other than upgrade your OS!!!!!)

Werewolf: Scuse my ignorance but I keep seeing people responding 'bump' and have no idea what this is! Does this mean you have the same problem?

Martin:"Bump" means that the thread is sinking without much response. To "Bump" it brings it to the top so maybe someone in the know might see it and respond.

I just looked the function SHGetFolderLocation up in the MSDN Library. According to that information, this function is only supported on Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. So, unfortunately, the only answer there seems to be is "upgrade your OS". It might be possible to patch together a mix of Win98 and WinME, but I highly doubt that WinME's shell32.dll could possibly work on Win98. Plus, you might end up having no working OS at all. I'm sorry that there is no better answer.

I use an older version of DX for win98 when the system could handle it. the only thing I can think of is to let DX see what OS it is on and use the oppropriate dll.

something like that. I know allot of people have win98

The funny thing is it worked for awhile and then this happened. So I have gone back to an older version of DX but now I get the same message.

I have spoken to Ian on this. It was a slip up in the code used which should be resolved in the next build. Hold fire peoples
