Fences 3 on Windows 7 no longer opens a new window

I just upgraded to Fences 3.0 and now whenever I double click a folder in one of my Fences it simply opens in that Fence. Is this a new feature? In the past it would open a new window with the folder contents. Is there a way to disable this?

If you hold the Ctrl key down and click the Explorer window will open.

Yes, I discovered that. Is there a way to revert it back to it's previous functionality? Maybe add an option to open in a new window? Let the user decide.

Well it seems Fences 3.0 is constantly locking up when I double click a folder in a portal and won't let me do anything. Reverting back to version 2. Oh well.
