"Multiplicity was able to connect to the computer, but your passcode is incorrect"

MP 2.0 build 00027

I'm trying out the free version to see if it works for me. So far, no. I'm running Win 7 on both machines and I keep getting the error "Multiplicity was able to connect to the computer, but your passcode is incorrect". The issue is, the passcode is right. I'm looking at both screens and see it typed the same on both screens. The notification area icon gives me a similar message and the MP2 config tool shows lit up icons as though everything is alright. All IP and machine names match up as well. Is there somewhere else that the passcode is set that's not being changed? Please help.

Is there anything unusual about the passcode?

On the help tab, what version is displayed (on both PCs)?

Version 2.0 build 00027 on both machines. Nothing special about the password, just letters and numbers. I've tried a few different ones including the default one it started with.

Bump? Anyone out there from Stardock? This seems like a pretty ridiculous issue for your software to have. I've tried all kinds of different passwords and they all fail as described above. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, even spent a large chunk of time digging through the registry and removing all references to Multiplicity to make sure some weird file wasn't saving an old passcode. Yes, I then re-installed and rebooted.

Is there a way to not set a passcode like in previous versions? I'd really rather not have one, but that doesn't seem to be an option. Help would be appreciated. Otherwise, I'm obviously not going to buy the full version.

Thanks.

We're closed on the weekends but there are a few things to check.

First, there is an encryption key and a passcode for Multiplicity connections and a different one for Acoustic Bridge.  Make sure you are setting what you think you are setting (MP on the Settings tab and Acoustic Bridge on the Audio tab of MP).

If that doesn't work, email support@stardock.com and we'll see if the logs tell us anything more.

Acoustic Bridge? I'm not seeing anything like that. I don't have a paid version yet (since I can't get it working) so maybe that isn't available to me? I only have tabs for 'Computers', 'Settings', Help' and 'Upgrade'. Also, I tried emailing support@stardock.com and it comes back as an invalid address.
