object desktop issues

hi guys, im having huge issues with object desktop renewal i recieved. Ive sent an email to stardock support (i know that takes a few days, so im

not worried about that)

but i would like to try to resolve the issue myself, or with help.

so far i have uninstalled every stardock product, and used the zapper, but when i use the link for my new objectdesktop download , i still get

the same message that my subscription has expired, and i need to update it.  (this is after impusle has installed and i try to either download one of the objectdesktop components or register product)  I get the "please check your email serial number (ref204 error.) error message

can someone please help? ive done everything i can think of,

i want to skin!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Vampothika what you can try is open Impulse, click on the small icon in the upper left hand corner and select Impulse Settings, then click on Reset Data.  That will usually take care of most problems like this.   :sun:

Should work. You prob have an issue with Paypal although I didn't use that for your sub. Jeff T may have, and because mine went in a shade slower, it might be your 'next' sub and his might be your 'present' sub waiting to clear? A mystery.

If Reset data doesn't work, did you archive your apps? If you did, in Impulse go to the left side blue tab, click it and down the menu you'll see "Restore archive". Click that and a window opens to where your archives are. If that doesn't work it might be because you're using more than one OS (I'm pretty sure this is right)... If so, boot to the other OS and try the Restoe archive thing through it...

There would not have been any reason to uninstall/zapper any of your ObjectDesktop programs. The renewal would have taken care of updating your existing program access automatically.

Unfortunately this is a long holiday weekend for Stardock but I will try and get someone who can look to see if the renewal has gone through.  If not you probably will have to wait for Stardock to return to work on Tuesday.

The uninstall take the archive too? That's a shame, Vamps. Hankers is right... your software was fully functional. No need to uninstall since the sub only gets you updates for the existing software, which you keep.

I wonder if a System Restore would work in putting things back they way they were?

no no no no no....i currently have a new wave of insanity lapping over the old one atm, i cant skin, and my pc went insane too, and ive spent the last 3 days reinstalling xp and today vista... tomorrow is windows 7.:'(   if i could afford to stay in a mental assylum...i would, you can skin from a padded cell, right?

ps im currently using windowblinds 5 as its the only thing that will work........how insane is that, time warp indeed.

I'm not sure how it will help you without the pro version but you can get the regular version of skinstudio for free as stated on Stardock site.

Maybe it will help you to keep going till you get things straightened out.

I see your subscription is good until 2013, I assume that is correct as I can't see what orders they are from.

Make sure you logoff and restart Impulse, and reset data as Doc suggested.

Also make sure you have the latest Impulse build: http://www.impulsedriven.com/downloads/impulse_setup_full.exe

i think that logging off helped, and the new installation of impulse link from spence... i was able to install skinstudio 7

and now and update is showing for windowblinds, but when i do try to update i get an error 'file not found'
