Can't Start a new game?

After selecting my sovreign, faction, and enemies, the world load screen simply doesn't end. It's been about 5-10 minutes now. What gives? Anyone else having these problems?

Difficulty is set to challenging, world normal, everything else normal. let me know if anyone has insights.

Still having issues, tried it like 10 times with different sovs, world sizes, graphics.
