Quoting Lord Xia, reply 26I loved CoH, the only MMO I played for a long time, and I played it for 5 years. But yea, there wasn't really crap to do at level 50, other than help others levels and make new alts. But, man, I loved that game so much. Thinking about getting back into it still. But I know it wouldn't keep my attention for all that long any more, yea, I think it's sunset for CoH. I would just sit for hours playing with the character creator on that game.
DCUO doesn't even give you that, though. The character creator pales in comparison to CoH or CO's. It has a couple different skin types, but the costume part is sorely lacking in customization. Unlike in CoH/CO where you make your costume and can get gear without changing your appearance, DCUO has a more traditional loot system where each piece of gear is its own costume style, and you get your basic equipment slots (boots, belt, back, gloves, etc).. so your appearance always changes.
Yeah, this is wrong. In DCUO you can choose what every single slot looks like. Your choices come from every single piece of armor you have ever equipped. So you can lock in your appearance at level 1 and never have it change. Or you can mix and match every single slot with everything you have ever picked up.
It might not be as customizable as CoH/CO, but its much better than most MMORPGs.
There are quit a few permutations between power sets, weapon types, and travel type, so customization is actually quite good IMO. The focus is really more on the gameplay rather than the character creation though, which is just fine with me.
