AI asks for a marriage then refuses.

It kills me that the AI players are like "Hey man, we both have kids who are old enough, want to get them married?" The when you actually offer one they say "WTF why would I want my kid to marry yours? Get away from me you loser!"  Just figured I would mention it in case it was being overlooked.

They also ask for alliances and agreements when they don't seem to value them very highly (like I'd have to throw in ~1000 gildar to make it worth their while)

End of quote

Sounds like some of the girls I dated.

Yeah, I have this happen a lot, sometimes they'll spam me with those every 15 turns or so with no intent on doing it.

You and me both bro. I'm feelin' ya.
End of Starvald's quote

Your have to wait at least a week before asking a girl to marry you.

Hey AM_shark, why do you have a picture of my ex-girlfriend for your avatar?    Are you sure you're not her?    Is there where we went wrong--I should have waited a week after our first date first?

I've had ai's tell me we should have treaties together too, then once i say "okay sure" and ask them, they dont even want to consider it (cant click on them) XO

Devs, have the AI's actually come with their own trade / treaty / marriage requests, pre-set in the trade screen when you click "yeah dude sure!", it makes no sense and appears so broken, to just throw you to the same empty diplomacy screen you could have just went to yourself without them even asking.

Like, what are they asking about if its just an empty non-proposal when you go there? ^_^

The AI isn't just schitzo in diplomacy: "We should have treaties, and you should pay for them you rich bastard". I had Markinn single-handedly attack my capital once a turn for 12 turns straight. The city was defended by a peasant, so he probably thought he could beat even if he was alone, but once in combat, he lost the nerve and ran away (he only had 3 hit points). Aaaattack! Run awaay, run away! As early empire I had to spend several turns for my soveign to walk back, and then several more turns to research a infinite range attack spell, before I could put the crazy old fool out of his missery.

Answer:

The AI asks for marriage.  Then actually sees you and decides not to go thru with it?  Well that means you are ONE UGLY @@@.

I actually feel more rejected when the AI tells me it has new cool technology and we should trade. This feels like the game is telling me it once had technology trade and they forgot to remove the AI adverts for it. :(
