Why download screenshots

I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just really curious about why anyone would download a screenshot. What are they used for once dl'd?

Thanks

I don't download them, but I do enjoy seeing them full sized at times. More than anything I like to see what types of scenes folks have put together, ways they have used stuff. But it doesn't happen often.

I have always wondered this also? I have this goofy vision of someone using a screenshot as a desktop background because they don't know how to use the customization software......

LOL jeez, I hope not. That would just be... well, not that there's anything wrong with that

Even to hold onto a screenshot for reference, why not "right click" & save image? Might save storage space on the server side.

But on the other hand... Saved as a desktop background would drive the next person at the computer to go nuts clicking on an icon!

I always zoom to look, but that is still a download as far as your computer is concerned. The image is still "downloaded" into your computer. I don't think anyone would use a screeeny for a wall, but I have been wrong before (quite often).

So I am guessing, that just looking at a screenshot by enlarging or zooming, counts as a download. Could be wrong.

Yeah SD, zooming is considered a download, altho it's just to get a closer look at the shot...maybe somebody sets it as wallpaper and then tries to match it perfectly???..j/k..that would be too weird

Maybe someone knows this one as well:

At the old Wincustomize site, my screenshot small preview looks stretched horizontally, but the full size is correct. At the new site the small preview and the full size is squished horizontally.

Anyone know what the right proportions are for getting a good screenshot on the new site?

The screenshot is 1280x1024.

I uploaded one shot from the new site and it as squished, also. I have been uploading from the old site until it's fixed over here. 1280 x 1024 also

screen shots are to display ones desktops..the download count, IMO, helps me see if others are interested enough in my screenshot to zoom in ...since the rateing system seems kinda screwey at times ...

I had the same problem with the size of the ss. Changed it to 1280x968 and that solved it....

I didn't think you could download screenshots, only view them.

You can't 'view' anything on the web without 'downloading' it first.

It goes into a temp file on your computer until you clear your cache.

unless you actually save it to something.
