Upgraded ships bought from other races keeping original names if design is my own.

Hello,

I noticed that on occasion, when I upgrade a ship (like a fighter) that I purchased from another race into a design that I made, the ship will keep its original name.

For example, I designed a troop transport using a medium hull and I upgraded a Iconian fighter I purchased.  The ship's name is still the same and I have to check the ship's stats to see which one of them is my troop transport.

Is there any way to manually rename a ship ?

Um, I might be misunderstanding this, but why would you name your troop transport design after an Iconian fighter? Or have you been buying multiple Iconian fighters?

At any rate, you can rename ships by clicking on the button in the top right corner of the control panel when a ship is selected.

I purchased several ships from multiple races.   In my last game, i played as the Drath and quickly built up my military by asking for a few ships every time I traded some tech from other races.

I also bought all the scouts and space miners that I could, converting them to constructors that I used to build up my starbases.  It was much cheaper than building a constructor from scratch.   In this game I didn't build many ships, I mainly did ship upgrades of the many ships I purchased from other races.

I only rushed-purchased a few transports and a couple of fighters near the end but by then my economy was doing well.

Anyhow, when I upgraded Fighters of one type (could have been Yor or Thalan, the name was an alpha-numerical sequence)  when I selected "upgrade all ships of this type"  the ships would all keep their names.
